Now it looks like a Spring 2011 release. That seems more accurate as I can't really imagine Rockstar wanting to release this so soon after RDR.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
They are pretty diverse compared to many studios no doubt R44, I would just like the option to be able to have someone I can atleast identify with as my playable character. I love GTA4 and RedDead (much more than GTA4), it would just be cool if they took more of a mass effect approach or even Saints Row from a main character point of view. In Fable 2, I dont think you could even create a black character. My kids love that game but they were put off by that.Every GTA character outside of GTA has been ethnic correct? GTA Vice City: Italian, San Andreas: Black, GTA 4 had Niko whatever he was, and the spanish guy. They are pretty diverse with their line up.
I agree though that we should be able to create ourselves. They kind of did it in Saints Row which was cool.
Still looking forward to LA.....EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I agree that more customization is usually preferred. But I think with the way R* scripts their games having a set main character is pretty important. I mean in GTA: SA that characters background was so essential to the story, same with GTA 4 and niko's story of rags to riches.
I think if they gave us a customization option they would have to generalize the story more. With that being said I have never played Saint's Row, so maybe they do a better job of covering these issues.Go Yankees
Go Rangers
Go Giants

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
The deal with Saints row is that it was about "the gang", and then eventually the story moved to your character. In GTA,etc there is always a back story which does make it hard for them to allow any type of person.I agree that more customization is usually preferred. like in saints row, it could be white, chinese, black, martian, who joins the gang and then does all the missions, etc and somewhere along the way you get cheated and need revenge. where as Vice Coty, dude was a made man in the Mafia, IN San Andreas Carl Johnson lived in south central LA and was in a Gang, and Niko had all kinds of crazy stuff happen that couldn't be rationalized to have happened in Omaha, Nebraska lol.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Didn't peep this thread earlier for some reason. Wish I would have, the game looks amazing. I just found it at GameStop while looking at the new releases. They show it coming out on August 29th, which I don't believe is accurate because there is no official date on the game when I view it there.
If this game is as good as Red Dead Redemption, then I'm gonna have a love hate relationship with R* from here on out. Love the games they put out, but hate them for ruining the other games (of lesser quality) for me.
How much you guys want to bet there's a trade mark 'questionable scene' in the game? Like the hot coffee incident? Or more recently the chickido getting boffed in the Red Dead Redemption game?Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I wouldn't mind this game coming out next Spring. Wasn't to keen on the fact that it was going to release 1-2 weeks after Mafia II.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I'd like to see it come out in March.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I hope so. Although next Spring has some big titles, at least for me, releasing in that time frame:
*MLB The Show '11
*Motorstorm 3(forgot name)
*Ghost Recon: Future SoldierI can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

This will probably be much more deeper than Mafia 2. Looking forward to this one. Oh and it's based in the best city....LA. :wink:Comment

Doesn't look like it, but I think that's fine. Less competition, too close to Mafia II, smart move. More time to refine the game as well.PSN: VoicesWrestling

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I can wait on it, it looks awesome. I just hope some terrible problem or budget constraints doesn't get the game canned. I've been excited for quite a few games in the past that just ended up sorta fading away and getting quietly canceled.Favorite Sports Teams
