I'm not the only one though. You know

I hope you're right, but I've heard that with every single shooter or big online game released all year though.

I thought TF2 would have legs too, and I don't think I ever got in a game with more than 4-5 people ever. I finally just gave up on playing it online, and just played Portal.

Loving the game, only playing single player so far, because my 360 isn't online right now....

But amazing graphics in 1080p, and 1080i....love the sound, in 5.1...the effect is crazy....

Environments are amazing, Team A.I is nice, they are actually killing people, not just standing around...its nice....

2 stages in and I'm impressed. The training was cool, I'm going to try that ship training level again..You get an achievement for completing it in 20 seconds..

I've learned not to just play with OS guys, because if so...I wouldn't be playing shooters very long. =) Randoms are not so bad, I had a blast with some last night. My times are not always good for late nights anymore, so I have had to adjust to playing with randoms whenever I am all.

This game will last with me.

When College Hoops comes out, I'll have to make time for that though.

I think the Matchmaking gives this game legs. It worked for Halo, too. You can grab 3 or 4 guys, and enter into ranked play, trying to unlock new weaponry, perks, game modes, and challenges.

I had more fun playing against randoms last night than I did in private matches because of the addictive ranking system.

Funny story, we (I think it was Hoosier, Isles, and myself) entered into our first match yesterday afternoon with 3 or 4 guys ranked less than 5 on our team. Our opponents were Infinity Ward developers. They were all ranked 35+, and wiped the map with us. It was ugly.

Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions

Played for a good 3 hours last night.

Single player was great, I didnt play that for long because I wanted to get to online play. The main thing I did notice is that the team A.I. was great, I dont want to spoil any of the storyline, but they definately helped me out of a bad situation early on. I didn't see a guy who was standing right next to me and as I saw him out of the corner of my eye, I looked over and by that time he was shot.

As for online, I love it. Cant wait to get on there with some OS'ers.

I mainly stayed in team battle, which was good. I dont know which map it is but there is one with a bus and seemed like every game a sniper would sit in there and pick people off. Overall I enjoyed the online play so far. I will play more tonight and give more impression for those who havent decided if they want to buy this yet.

Online: 9.8/10 I like how you can compare score, kills, ect. with everyone on your freinds list. Create a class is great, and it just seems like a good strategy game online instead of run and gun.
Single Player: 9/10 Good storyline so far, but as stated before only played for about an hour.

I think this holds true. With Halo 3, I made it to 2nd Lieutenant and when i realized I had to get to 200 pts for my next ranking, the game quickly became dull. The matchmaking is excellent, but everything has become "rinse and repeat." I'm never going to get to 200 pts, not just because I don't have the time, but also because the game has peaked for me. there's not much incentive to play.

I think that's what is key with these games. After so long playing it, what's the incentive to keep going?
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

We'll I ended-up playing until 1AM last night & if I hadn't come-in to work (due to a meeting) I'd probably would've been up all night. This game is great... The chaos is intense. Picking people off feels soooooo rewarding. Mind you I'm not a big COD Fan, but this game has changed that. Infinity Ward has definitely created a CLASSIC with this-1.

Graphically this game is pretty. What really makes this title shine graphically is the Lighting. The lighting is game this game just ridiculous. Not to mention the shadowing detail. It's the BEST Graphical Game on next-gen, but it definitely holds it's own...

Didn't realize there was an impressions thread so i'll post this here as well

                          ***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***

Wait til you guys get to a mission called death from above in single player. If you've ever watched a military movie clip of an AC130 gunship tracking border jumpers or terrorists in nightvision it will blow your mind how realistic it looks. In fact I felt somewhat guilty because it really felt like I was actually killing the enemy which is something I've never felt playing a videogame. It was real erie.

I didn't realize it had that. That's a big plus. It's hard to find 10-16 guys every night. It was easy with Rainbow, but no other game besides Halo 3 for a week or so.

If I don't go out tonight with the girlfriend, I'll be on for some multiplayer.

I only played single player last night at my bro's house and GOOD LORD. I played at the second toughest level of play and when I got to that TV station..it was insane.

If it was that tough on the next to easiest level, I can only fathom how insane it is on the hardest level.

Can't wait to get some more time in tonight.
