I want to get it, but then I would need to get an Hori stick as well, not sure if I want to do that much of an investment.
I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.

I thought about the Hori stick, but I'm moving soon and not only would that be extra $$$, but it'd be a major inconvenience to travel with, since I'm already taking my guitar, laptop and 360.

This is how good the controller is. I just went online and went undefeated in Soul Calibur with it. This thing is super responsive to all kinds of movements. Double taps, circular motions, you name it. If it had a second analog, I'd put this badboy in 2k9.

Mo, I aint played SF in 10 years so asking me to pull a Haduken would be like asking me to snap my fingers and make it rain lmao.

I guess im gonna have to buy another controller then.
Ya'll just gon have to take it easy on the rook and don't embarrass me too bad lol.

That's good, b/c I was holding back getting anything from Madcatz. I still remember that PS1 controller that put out. Thing was awful.

Anyone think these fightpads might be difficult to find a couple of weeks after release? Are they being made in limited quantities or anything? Just curious because I might have to hold off on getting SFIV until I get a little more money.

I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

It's very hard to predict. I'd imagine that a lot of people are going to get them, since SFIV people are probably hardcore enough to shell out the loot. I'd almost recommend getting the pad first, if you have any other games that could use it. I'm using it on Soul Calibur, Guilty Gear and SFTurbo, and it's a godsend. The Dpad AND buttons are so much better it's not even funny. Double button presses are a dream. The size and weight are perfect. IMO, it's a perfect fighting game control, and I literally passed on SFHDRemix because there was no suitable controller to play with.

Any of you guys have the Hori EX2 fighting stick? Thats what I have, so I should be all set. I know it was not 150 bucks either. I don't know if that means the quality isn't great, but I doubt it. It was pretty much what everyone was playing SF2HD and SC4 on.

Anyway, see if you can find a Hori. I am always skeptical of madcatz stuff. I think they may be overcharging to capitalize on the hype of this game.

I can't speak for the Madcatz stick, but the gamepad is stellar. This is probably my favorite purchase for the Xbox since Rock Band 2. It already doubled my ability in Soul Calibur.

I just want everyone to be as happy as I am. I was skeptical when I bought it, honestly, but the Xbox Dpad is so unacceptable that anything would have been an improvement. I was very, very happy to find the best Dpad I've ever touched. Previously, I really liked the PS2 standard pad and the Sega Six buttons(Saturn/Genesis) along with the SNES pad from back in the day. Thing is, this doesn't form grooves in your thumb over time. There is no pressure or resistance on the pad. But somehow it doesn't feel too loose either. Even though the D-pad is raised, it doesn't fly all over the place. I have to applaud Madcatz on that one.

I might just get it for the 360 and pick up the MadCatz controller. Then again, I don't have many PS3 games, so maybe I will just expand my collection a little and save money by not buying the extra controller. I have a few days to think about it.
This is my prior post about this game. I am really leaning towards getting it, but I need a little boost. So for you fans out there, sell me on the game. Just a few Qs:

-What makes the Street Fighter games so special? I remember playing SFII ages ago and was impressed, but not overly so. Still, the adulation this game is getting is getting me very hyped. I am a sucker for any first rate game, regardless of genre.

-What other fighting games do you guys enjoy? And do you consider the SF series the best?

-I will basically be a newbie at this game and will play 95% of the time in single player mode. Still worth it? Easily accessible for a newbie?

-Will one console have exclusive downloads or any extra content as an advantage over the other console? If all things are equal, 360 or PS3 and tell me why. If I am getting the game I will be getting the Mad Catz controller, so the PS3 controller advantage won't make much difference.

-How much replay value? The cast of characters does not seem too plentiful. Will more be made available for downloads or is the current cast enough in your opinion?

-Is the Mad Catz controller wireless and what sort of battery system does it use? Is it rechargeable like the PS3 and 360 controllers?

I have a $150 dollar gift certificate so I am thinking of picking up SFIV, the Mad Catz controller and Soul Calibur IV for about that much. Seem like a good plan? I have enjoyed past Soul Calibur games as they seem to have lots of replay value. Any thoughts on PS3 vs. 360 on SCIV?

Thanks to anyone that takes the time to help me out. I really appreciate it.

Street Fighter is one of the most competitive things you can do in any walk of life. If you like competition and video games, Street Fighter is home. As a fighting game, the timing and mind games make Street Fighter top dog. The SF teams have an uncanny ability to put in the right kinds of game mechanics to allow execution and psychology to determine the winner, with less of an emphasis on pure combo acrobatics, though there are no shortage of combos.

-What other fighting games do you guys enjoy? And do you consider the SF series the best?
So far, I consider SFIII the best fighting game ever. I also loved: Samurai Showdown II, Guilty Gear and its sequels besides Isuka, Soul Calibur series, Marvel Superheroes and Bushido Blade

-I will basically be a newbie at this game and will play 95% of the time in single player mode. Still worth it? Easily accessible for a newbie?

It's accessible, because there aren't a million combos to memorize like in other games, and the mechanics are pretty simple. However, I couldn't see playing any fighting game primarily single player. If not online, I'd have to at least have a group of regular friends to play with. SFIV is stepping up the single player game for fighters with anime sequences and a nice training mode, but overall fighting games are a 2 player genre

-Will one console have exclusive downloads or any extra content as an advantage over the other console? If all things are equal, 360 or PS3 and tell me why. Both systems seem equal.

-How much replay value? The cast of characters does not seem too plentiful. Will more be made available for downloads or is the current cast enough in your opinion?

There are many characters to unlock on the home version, but no word of DLC

-Is the Mad Catz controller wireless and what sort of battery system does it use? Is it rechargeable like the PS3 and 360 controllers?

                                It's wired

I have a $150 dollar gift certificate so I am thinking of picking up SFIV, the Mad Catz controller and Soul Calibur IV for about that much. Seem like a good plan? Soul Calibur IV is excellent. I'd get it for 360, since Vader is a pretty bad character. Yoda isn't great, but he's playable. I've heard no system specific complaints though.

Thanks to anyone that takes the time to help me out. I really appreciate it.
