Are there any tips or suggestions for a person who barely has even seen Diablo footage before let alone never touched the game? I just saw some Diablo footage for the first time ever watching IGN's review of the game and it looks very fun. I have no clue about this game or even the genre in general. I never buy strategy guides, but I think this may be the one time it may be worth doing some reading/research about a game.

I'll be picking this up for PS4 at some point in the near future.

Its basically mindless violence you cant go wrong!

Going to run this Whirlwind build on my 70 barb when i get home tonight.

Spoilers for those who don't want to read it all:

Basic Skills and Runes for the traditional WW build.

Cleave (Reaping Swing Rune) – bonus fury for each enemy hit.
*Cleave is my personal favorite primary attack for WW but Frenzy and Bash will also work just fine.
If you don’t need the extra Fury regeneration choose one of the other runes.
All the basic attacks seem to work just fine

Whirlwind (Wind Sheer Rune) – bonus fury for critical hits
You will sacrifice uptime on WW for more damage if you use the other runes but don’t
be afraid to try them out. The others will change your damage/gameplay and you may
not miss the extra fury.

War Cry (Invigorate) – bonus health and regeneration
I like Invigorate for the extra healing/heath.

Battle Rage (Into the Fray)
Increases your crit chance when surrounded by demons. I may try Marauders Rage
for boss fights with its increased single target damage.

Rend (Ravage, increases range to 17 yards) This is the more traditional choice for the WW build. You will probably change this out for an attack that offers more burst damage.

Sprint (Run like the Wind) This is another traditional WW skill to choose.
I would recommend trying a few of the others to see how you like them.
Leap also a fun skill to use in this build and offers stuns and mobility.

Passive abilities
Unforgiving, Superstition, Brawler are the most important. Choose the last one based on personal preference.

I beat Act 4 w/my monk and decided to try a Demon Hunter from the beginning. I have found him to be harder than monk and crusader. Any suggestions on how to play him effectively?

Demon Hunter is the only class I have used so far. Best build for me was to avoid any contact at all with enemies.
Build I found to be most effective was evasive fire for primary attack. You auto back flip anytime an enemy get near you.
Rapid fire was very effective in a bind as secondary attack.
Sentry was good as well. Had a passive skill where I could have 3 up at one time.
I used Vault as well. Good active skill where you can back flip a good distance anytime you get caught in a crowd. Key to this class I found was killing from a distance. Hope that helps.

You have to go to the lady that does the enchanting (forgot her name). She can change a single stat on a weapon/armor.

Ohhh. I don't think I've met her yet. I'm in Act 2. In the Desolate Sands.

Was in a rift last night where it became like I was on an acid trip. Was going up against the usual group of enemies then I saw a unicorn. After a few minutes, all I was fighting were Unicorns, Teddy Bears, and something that looked like flowers. I have run through maybe a dozen rifts and this was the only time I have seen this. Don't know if that is common or not.

There is an entire zone for that stuff called whimsyshire. You can hunt down some items to make a key to enter it.

On the PC version I actually found a Rainbow Goblin that spawned a portal to Whimsyshire when I killed it. I think I remember hearing that one of the items was bugged and wasn't dropping,which could explain the goblin.

So I beat the game tonight, and decided to hop right into a rift. Finally finish the rift and open up the horadric cache. A legendary - sweet! It's a ring, too! *Identifies it* - Royal Ring of Grandeur. My jaw hit the floor. First console rift and I get a RRoG? Do you know how long I've been trying to farm one of these on the PC version?

Bounties =/= Rifts.

There is a cow rift. I've gotten it once in 300-400 hours of playing on PC. All levels of the rift are cows and has a unique rift boss.

Bounties =/= Rifts.

Yeah, typo on my part. I immediately hopped into a bounty. I am trying to clear a bunch of bounties to farm a lot of rift keys, as I prefer rifts over bounties.

I've also noticed that on the console version - and maybe it's limited to PS3 - that nobody knows how to do bounties. I would clear one of the bounties and immediately teleport back to town to go to the next one. The rest of the players in my game just stayed in that same bounty slaying monsters, even though it had already been cleared.

I've gone through about 10 horadric caches and not a single legendary item.

Just switched to console from Pc. I have to say I enjoy it. Any ps4 players here? Looking for a group to roll with and share items (currently looking for Maras set).
