Re: Diablo 3
Does anyone else not really socket the gems into anything? It doesn't seem like it adds much. Maybe it does once I can combine to make the better gems.Comment

Re: Diablo 3
I don't when leveling up. At 70 once you get a good weapon it's pretty damn near required to put the highest level emerald you can afford in your weapon (and a weapon without a socket is worthless. Gotta reroll for one if it doesn't have it.)badComment

Re: Diablo 3
You can re-roll one slot (it gives you the option to check out which affixes can come from which slots.)
It's based on the 4+2 item system (an item that rolls 6 stats will have 4 primary stats and 2 secondary stats.)
Primary stats are things like - Main Stat (INT/DEX/STR), VIT, Critical Hit Chance (CHC), Crit Damage, Attack Speed % (AS), All Resist, damage (Elemental damage %, Skill damage %) and the damage on weapons.
Secondary stats are things like - XP after kill, Single Resists, yards to health globe/gold pick up, etc.
That's why there's a break between some of the stats on items. You can only re-roll one stat (once you re-roll you only get the option to reroll that slot) but you can re-roll that slot as many times as you want as it's completely random what you will get from the potential affixes.
I'll show a couple pictures from the PC version (different layout, same thing you just have to hit X to do it.) It requires crafting materials (including the legendary crafting material [Forgotten Soul] for legendaries, and higher tier gems for jewelry [rings/amulets.])
(I apologize for the pictures, because all my gear on the PC is already enchanted so I had to grab something from my stash to use as an example.)
So here we have a set item, Firebird's Eye (a Wizard Source)
Spoiler
I put it in the enchant window, and this shows up. This shows the properties I can replace (along with the materials. The gold will show up when I pick an item.)
Spoiler
I know the difference between Primary and Secondary stats, but I will show both. I don't use Spectral Blade at all, so I want to re-roll that I know. I click on the question mark (hitting square on PS4 will do this, as will X on the XBOne I assume.) This shows me what it can be replaced by. Note it's a scrolling list, the last one on my list that isn't pictured (comes after all the damage) is Sockets (1) meaning it has the chance to roll 1 socket as 1 socket slot is the max for Wizard Sources.
Spoiler
If I click on a secondary stat (+35% extra gold from Monsters) it will show what secondary stat rolls could be.
Spoiler
So I've already decided on rerolling Spectral Blade damage. After looking over all the possible re-rolls, I've decided on the fact that I want either Critical Hit Chance or Increases Damage against Elites. The cost is 7 Arcane Dust, 16 Veiled Crystals, 1 Forgotten Soul and 1 Death's Breath for each re-roll on this item, along with a cost of 44,847 gold to start. Each re-roll the gold costs increase - it gets more expensive real fast (I've had re-rolls cost me over 1mil.) So I click on "Replace Property". It gives a list. I can keep what's on there, or choose from one of two other re-rolls.
Spoiler
Lucky me, I got Critical Hit Chance off the bat and a good roll of it at that. It could have rolled 8.0, 8.5, 9.0, 9.5 or 10.0. I choose that one. I can re-roll again, but the property that I re-rolled before (even if I chose to keep Spectral Blade Damage) is the only one I can re-roll now. The cost of materials is the same, but the gold cost went up to 52,321 gold.
Spoiler
There we have it. My item is now enchanted. There is a little arrow symbol showing which affix was re-rolled. Note that if you re-rolled for sockets, they won't show up with a little symbol.

Re: Diablo 3
I went back to play my level 20 Monk for a while and it was a world of difference compared to my Crusader. I do not think I used a potion more than twice with the Crusader. My Monk had times where she had to burn through them. I cannot find good gear for her either. A lot of drops do not have DEX+ stats.
Interesting. Are the characters that different or do I need to adjust to the style? I try and do a lot of hit and run with the monk. Three punches, spinning steer, a dash and when it's ready that crazy pinball thing where she hits everything around her. I love that skill.
Any Monk feedback?DON'T PANICComment

I just started up a monk and haven't been needing potions at all on expert. I can just sit in front of two elite packs and regenerate my health quickly. I focused more on resists, life per hit and attack speed, but I still do decent damage to kill enemies. He's almost level 30 now.
