Anyone just bored? I'm stuck and unlike D2, I've no desire to run for equipment (the fun of D2). Not going to use the AH either.

Almost ready to just uninstall. I don't know what's different that makes running equipment boring in this one.

I'm not bored as much as frustrated. I'm trying really hard to push through my frustration but I don't think it's possible for the time being. I played a lot of D2 as well and I can say with 100% confidence at the moment Diablo 2 is far and away better than Diablo 3 endgame. I feel like the game is 60% Great Game ! and 40% Absolute Poop. The game more or less at 60 seems like... not a gear grind like diablo 2 but a gold grind. In order to get gear I feel that I'm force to sit and play the (always malfunctioning) Auction House. Trying to rerun Act 3 and 4 inferno for drops is torture, and on top of that the gear I'm getting won't sell. I got fed up over the weekend with gear not selling so to clear out my stash i just put 10 items up at 100k or less. Of course they didn't sell. Which blew my mind. 100k for a 1099 dps 2h seems like a good deal to me . It's just not an enjoyable experience.

I've thought about making a new character but in the back of my mind it's kinda like... what's the point? I'm just going to get to 60 in a couple of days and have the same exact problems I've had before. The changes they announced today sound really intriguing but for the moment I'm just FORCING myself to play, and that's not good.

The trick with the AH is to look up similar weapon stats of the weapon your trying to sell in the AH and try to undercut them. Thats what I do and it seems to be successful.

Also I will say this, as of right now D2>D3 however D2 at launch was also sort of crappy and had a lot of issues a couple of months after launch. D2 became better after patches and Updates to the game, the expansion pack alone totally changed the game for the better and added a huge amount of content.

I think once D3 gets its bearings and releases the PVP patch and fixes the AH it will start to get on a roll. New updates and stuff will totally change the game for the better as it did with D2.

My biggest concern is how they did the level up areas of skills. In D2 there were reasons to create new characters of the same class to do different builds (Ex: Vita Build Barbs, High Dex Zons, different element Sorc, etc) but in D3 there is no good reason to do this. Stats being automatically given, no stat restriction on weapons, etc....all hurt D3 in that regard. I do trust however that D3 will get better over time just as D2 did.

I don't know if it was because I was playing with another person but the Elites on Hell are the worst thing ever created in a video game. Why not just give them every enemy skill there is?

Everyone needs to get ready to not have any fun in Inferno Act II and beyond... A lot of times you find yourself and your team running from mobs that are faster than you and invisible.... just awful

You guys read that Blizzard is going to tune down Acts 2 and beyond in the upcoming patch right? I guess some folks are mad because they say that Blizzard is giving in to people who "don't know how to play the game" LOL

Well it's just ridiculous... I loved Demon Souls and Dark Souls and beat them both.... The difference between that experience and this is that in the DS's when you died it was fair... In Inferno, it's just not fun, anything kills me in one hit... I've gone far enough to take all gear that has Vit and replace it with higher Dex (I'm a DH) because whether I have 8k HP or 25k HP I die in one hit.

Yeah the elites on hell can be a bitch sometimes. I am taking it slow through act 1 right now.

I changed my Wizards build around completely and stacked up on armor and resistances. Much more enjoyable experience and while I still need to kite around with elites I am not getting one shot killed anymore. Really enjoying playing through Hell now although not looking forward to facing

Fast 1 hander with life steal and a shield made Hell mode alot easier compared to the ranged Wizard

For those of you with Monks, how are you going about the game?

I found a nice staff I really enjoy but feel like I should be using two weapons at all times purely for the spirit and life stealing add on bonuses. I'm essentially using the Enchantress or Scoundrel and pulling as many enemies on top of me as possible, rooting them, then unleashing hell.

Once you get past nightmare you won't want to use a staff, or any 2-handed weapon for that matter. You'll either need to go two-handed with high attack speed or a one-handed with a shield for survivability. I have gone the shield route and have no regrets as I can tank really well.

With monk I found it was imperative to use elective mode to pick my abilities. I use the following:

(I switched 1-2-3-4 to Q-W-E-R)
Q - Blinding Flash - Blinding Echo
W - Serenity - Acension
E - Mystic Ally - Earth Ally
R - Mantra of Healing - Time of Need
Mouse 1 - Crippling Wave - Concussion (though I also like Way of the Hundred Fists - Fist of Fury and Deadly Reach - Keen Eye)
Mouse 2 - Tempest Rush - Bluster

Loaded up on "+All resistances" gear from the AH. It definitely is making Hell a bit easier.

Damn, not finding the motivation to play this much anymore. I am at level 43 and just finding it a grind already. sigh.
