Game is crack. I already leveled my Seasons Monk to T6 and got the set gear. Had to take 3 days off and party this weekend, and put this game down. haha. I see how it can get old to people, but the crazy thing is that it really does not get fun until you start melting Grifts in 5 minutes.

Agreed. Also like how you can see what gear others are running with. Just looked to see what the top 10 in grifts are using. And the skills they use. wrote it all down. Feel like i'm stealing answers off someone's test papers though. Oh well, In the middle of a season....don't have time to study.

Game is fun, but rng does get old after a while. My max so far is around GR 75, I've been doing a lot of GR 65's to farm, t13 Rifts and bounties too. I have just 3 ancient pieces of gear, none of which is optimally rolled, and I've yet to pick up/cube a primal of any kind.

I know the game is supposed to be a grind, but I'm not even finding/crafting marginal upgrades.

Man those primal drops are no joke.

That feel when I can't get at least an ancient Johanna's Argument for my Crusader, yet I have cubed 3 different primal flails that weren't Johanna's. I'm peaking at around GR 75 with a **** weapon roll.

Never played a Diablo game before and going to trade in some things and pick this up after work. Anything I should know going in?

The story is the warm up. Don't worry too much about saving gear until you get orange and green drops.

We missed an 86 GRift last night by 9 seconds with our support monk in the wrong build, we blew up an 85 just prior in 9 minutes. Having a lot of fun this season, sitting around 730 paragon.

Play a season character. It will roll into a regular character when it's done. You'll find most of the player base in the season is why.

Once you're done w/ the story you can then do adventure mode, you'll then grind bounties and rifts for gear.

Ping friends, they can help you level, but be sure to enjoy the journey also. A high level player can get you to max level in less than 20 minutes if you really wanted.

So how is this game if you’re a solo, typically offline player?

And don't worry if you think it's too easy. In fact, it can scale up tremendously and the difficulty really will spike AFTER you beat the game and begin doing the other stuff. The campaign (story) is just the beginning once you beat it.

Once you get used to the basics though, even while still in campaign mode, don't be afraid to scale up the difficulty a couple of notches. It's set to be pretty easy out of the box.

Plays great solo but one thing to note, if you join other peoples game you do get a good bit more experience and loot.

With that being said, there's nothing to stop you from joining other peoples games and going off on your own and playing on your own. Just note that the difficulty does scale so if you join with 3 other people it'll be a lot more difficult but you will be getting a lot more rewards.

Thats how I play 80% of the time and its great. To be honest, Diablo is my comfort food of video games, so to speak. Its the game I play when I want to relax, listen to a music or podcast.

This season I am playing a monk. I felt like the class was weak compared to others during leveling, but now that I have my set its doing great. Very frenetic, fun play style as the set gives you huge bonus to spirit generator and dashing strike damage. You basically dashing strike, then use your spirit generators, then dashing strike again.

Yeah, it used to be a lot harder than it is now. There wasn't much enemy level scaling at launch, but now it's present in the whole game. The game is as hard or as easy as you want to make it, but the rewards (loot drops) are much better playing on higher levels. To be able to play those higher levels efficiently though, you'll need to get at least decent equipment from the lower ones and work your way up.

TBH I feel like the difficulties and scaling kind of took the teeth out of hardcore mode (where you get one life and if you die, that character is permanently dead). JMO though.

This should be interesting. Lil man is asleep and I’m just about to start playing. I have no clue what a season is, what difficulty I should play (set it to Normal) or what to expect. Videos on YouTube looked cool though lol

I'd recommend starting on Hard and moving up as soon as your equipment will allow it. Hard's not too bad unless you just aren't looting enough to keep up with your character leveling.

Once you have a bunch of Rares you'll be good to go for the highest level you're allowed (which I believe is Expert until after you beat the story mode once).

                                Enjoy!
