Got this for the Switch and I'm hooked! One of the most basic ( don't mean this in a negative way) addicting games I've played and I feel like it's a perfect Switch game.

I still have fun with it from time to time on the PC, for the seasonal gameplay. Last night I had an unfortunate run-in with a wormhole elite + two other elite packs that I ran into which killed a HC character I was leveling on Expert. Got too greedy - I should have bailed on that rift as soon as I aggroed the 2nd pack. Live and <s>die</s> learn. Started another one right after and got it to 26 before quitting, but I don't know how much more progress I can make before the season ends.

And I still have my softcore Paragon 100+ non-seasonal DH in case I just wanna take out some frustration on Torment 4.

My highest character is at like 15. Don't laugh. Reading through this I've seen the ridiculous numbers. I'm all about hack n slam RPGs but there's just something about this one with the weird *** crazy monsters and the diversity of characters that keep me coming back so far.

First off its not as good as Diablo 2 so dont get too disapointed.

Im not saying Diablo 3 wasnt good, its just a step back from 2. At least thats what most of Diablo fans think.

Just use videos too see what certain character abilities are like and find one you think it the best.

It's a fun play but come on man, theres no personality at all. The rifts and such made it better but its not what D3 should of been. They cheated their player base especially at release.

Blizzard isnt what they used too be at all.

Play through the story mode, but know that most of the game is enjoyed outside of story mode in what's called Adventure mode. Rifts, bounties, greater rifts, keywardens for uber bosses, leaderboards for seasonal characters. This is where most of the people still playing the game can be found. Season 16 is set to start mid January. Each class has specific rewards by reaching certain seasonal milestones.

I can't remember if elective mode is enabled by default on the switch. If it's not, make sure to enable it. This allows you map any abilities (passive or active) to any button.

If you're looking to level quickly, find a helm with a socket in it and place the biggest ruby you can find in it. Rubies socketed into helms give you bonus XP while equipped.

If you prefer playing by yourself, make sure to use a follower. The three followers are Templar, Scoundrel, and Enchatress. They each have unique abilities to assist you in combat. I prefer the Enchantress for the CC she brings. Scoundrel is probably the worst follower, I don't know many people that use him. Followers can have items equipped as well so make sure to constantly check their gear with the items you get from monsters.

If you prefer playing in groups, try not to punch too high above your weight. For example, don't join a Torment 13 rift if you can only solo Tier 3. In rifts you stick with your group. In bounties, you split up. Sticking together in bounties will get you kicked.

Finishing greater rifts increases your blood shard count. Blood shards can be redeemed at only one place, Kadala, and you essentially gamble them for items. Sometimes she gives you legendaries, other times crap.

I would recommend against following any set build before level 70. While leveling I think it's best to play around with the different abilities to find the ones you like and the ones you don't. Once you hit 70 if you want to find the best builds and tier lists, I typically find good write ups at IcyVeins. If you want to stick to your own build, more power to you.

Don't want to ramble on forever but if there's questions let me know.

The bolded is practically a guarantee - be on the lookout for an early legendary (orange item) that will give you exactly this. I don't think it's possible to miss the drop in the storyline (though the ruby to really make it shine might have to wait for a bit). It almost always drops at some point in adventure mode too.

All of that is great advice.

Yes, absolutely. It can be found under game settings from the main menu, where campaign act select and also challenge rifts are located.

Actually, since you have the Switch version you should be able to access it even before completing the campaign, but I don't know if I'd recommend that because you'll probably outlevel your campaign progress very quickly, and the game will become too easy (assuming you stay on the same difficulty level). Enemies do level with you, but it's not too hard to get a lot of equipment that will completely destroy anything that gets near you.
