If you've never played Gears before it's certainly worth picking up.

I'm at the end, and have to say I really hated the varying missions. I know many praised it for that and I like they took some chances but overall they just felt "tacked-on."

Love the story though. Certainly got better once I got underground.

I agree. The story is fantastic, but some of the varying missions just didn't feel right. It felt like things were off a little bit. It was still a very enjoyable game.

At the end though all it did was raise more questions. Gears story is great but you finish it with more questions than answers.

Hopefully the third concludes questions from the 1st and 2nd.

I would imagine the third will pit humans and locusts against the lambent.

one of my biggest questions is where are the humans going to go since they sunk their last remaining standing city in Jacinto? Is there a hidden military stronghold somewhere or will the humans just find a nice piece of new land to set up shop?

The Locust seem to hate humans too much to team up with them. Although it can be like Halo where the Elites hated the humans but had no choice but team up with them. If that is the case I think the base of operation would be in the Locust strong hold with the battles waging underground.

Or as you said, there is some secret base we don't know about yet.

I rather not team with the Locust though, I hate them. In Halo it was different because I loved the Elites in Halo since the first one because they're bad *** warriors.

On another note... I didn't think Jacinto was the last city, just the last military stronghold. Maybe I'm wrong.

I dont think it was the last city either. I think it was just the only city that the Locusts couldn't drill up through because if the concrete underground. That is why they had majority of the population there.

Well they did mention several times it was the last city.

I'm 99.9% sure the third game will discover a new secluded city that Marcus's dad is in relaxing and drinking lemonade.

I'd just like to say that as someone who invested more than 1,000+ hours in the orginal Gears, this game is a huge disappointment. I've decided not to play it until a MP patch is released. Right now, multiplayer is ***.

Just finished the single player last night and loved it. The ending is pretty Halo 2-esque but I guess that keeps people eagerly anticipating the 3rd. Still haven't touched Horde yet, which I really need to get into.
