Cancel, recheck your connection and then try again. If it still happens after seeing your connection is fine just wait even longer.Comment

Re: Socom: Confrontation (PS3)
Good news, there is a new patch coming out on Monday. here are the details:
SOCOM: Confrontation Patch 1.41 Release and Server Update Notes
Posted by SOCOM: Confrontation Online Team
Earlier this week we performed a server update. This was the final step in fixing the latency (lag) issue some players were experiencing (Medley games being created on non native servers) - We have verified that this issue is now fixed.
Patch 1.41 will be deployed 2am on Monday, March 9th in preparation of the upcoming release of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation in Europe. In addition to synchronizing all players with the European release, the 1.41 patch includes the following changes:
XMB presence - Medley Game information has been abbreviated, displaying all information required to identify the location of the player.
Late Join 'Hitch' improvements - addresses the pause experienced by players when someone late joins a game.
Navigating Screens With Large Clans – slow down issue fixed
Increased speed of fade at the beginning of the round.
Quick Match -
Increased countdown timer in Quick Match Pre Game lobby from 20 to 60 seconds.
Enabled Quick Match team switching.
Ranked, Unranked and Unranked Respawn games, each contains 6 different playlists: 3 8vs8 and 3 16vs16 players.
Claymores can now be detonated when player is in the prone position
Note: So where did 1.40 patch go! The 1.40 was intended to support the European release, we combined the 1.40 and the 1.41 together to speed the deployment of the above fixes.
Development continues on patch updates, additional content and improvements to the game. We thank everyone for their feedback on the title. Player counts remain very health and we look forward to the contribution that the European players will make to the Community.
Thanks for reading,

Re: Socom: Confrontation (PS3)
It's just something about socom's online set-up that I just love and it makes me hate everyother online shooter.
1) I like that when you die....your dead. See you next round.
2) I like the lobby system. Me and a buddy (or a couple of buddys) can just join up and play in that lobby all day long 9on the same team). No getting booted back out to the main menu after one match. No, "the host got mad because he was getting lit up and quit, there for, we have to go back out to the main menu.
i dont know, it's just something about it.
PS: The new patch really did get rid of the lag. (Edit: 8 vs 8 rooms only, I dont play 32)Last edited by Mintsa; 03-12-2009, 11:05 AM.Comment

Re: Socom: Confrontation (PS3)
I downloaded the patch and I did notice how much better the menu's work now. you can go up and down fast. The game was just relesed in Europe so you should see more people playing it because I think Killzone killed the North American community.follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment

Re: Socom: Confrontation (PS3)
did they speed up the load times for games? My biggest gripe was how long it took to actually get into a game once you loaded the game. KZ2 is not my cup of tea either. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

heelfan, I'm not sure about the load time when you wanted to get into the game. I do know that the black screen that you see when the round starts is much quicker to go away.follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment

Re: Socom: Confrontation (PS3)
ok, to bring up this thread. They are finally releasing the 1.50 patch and finally they will have some dlc with the 1.60 patch. here is the info:
1.50 Update:
Posted by Confrontation Online Team
The 1.50 Update for SOCOM: Confrontation is feature complete and currently in test. Due to the number and scope of the feature set of 1.50 the testing cycle has taken longer than anticipated. We remain committed to releasing this patch as soon as the remaining open issues are resolved. It is extremely important to us to make sure the 1.50 update is as problem free as possible when it is released and we are working towards that goal rather than pushing it out as is on a specific date.
A number of features in 1.50 are of such a scale that it will not be possible for us to fully predict how they will behave before public deployment. An example of this is the tournaments, each of which can accommodate 1000s of players. To account for this, we will ramp the size and number of tournaments during the first weeks after release to monitor and address any issues which may arise. We have also been working on a 1.60 Update which will incorporate any fixes that are required as Tournaments and Clan Ladders become fully populated.
FREE Downloadable Content:
We are happy to announce that the 1.60 Update will also contain additional features and content. We’ve heard your requests for new content and we are happy to provide free downloadable content with the 1.60 update. The following free Downloadable Content will be available to all players:
New Special Forces: The Dutch KCT and the Italian COMSUBIN Special Forces. Each Force includes new heads and voice + a light, medium and heavy variant of their own torso and legs (each with a unique camouflage pattern).
Two new primary weapons will be immediately accessible to players who select to play as the new Special Forces; the 417 assault rifle for the Dutch KCT and the SPAS 15 shotgun for the Italian COMSUBIN Special Forces.
Four new weapons will be available to all players regardless of assigned Special Force. These are the 9mm Sub Machine Gun, M82A1A, Ak-74 and SR-25. The 1.60 will also include a number of weapon updates and adjustments to existing weapons.
In addition to the free DLC included with the 1.60 update we are also working to add 100% Random Medleys in the 1.60 update. We know this is a highly requested feature and we really want to get it out to you.
More DLC coming! - We can also confirm that we have been working on a major content release/pack. Look for an announcement later in the month.
We will release more information on Patch 1.6 after 1.5 has been released.
I'm hoping we get some OS'ers back playing this again. The game is preety stable now and sure be better with the Patches.follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment

Re: Socom: Confrontation (PS3)
Eton - any chance we would want to take the dutch SF group? people on the boards are talking about the new m418 being a great gun (and the famas seems to be less attractive)...Comment

Re: Socom: Confrontation (PS3)
belle, I am considering it. The hk417 looks to be a good gun. It uses a 7.62 bullet instead of the 5.56. That means it will have better stopping power. Also, the Famas will be toned down with the next patch. So OS SOCOM members, do you want me to make a new clan when the 1.6 patch comes out? Everyone who reads this let me know.follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment
