anyone else having a issue where your guy will just squat down and you can't move him ? I thought it was my controller, but switched and it kept happening. Every few minutes or so it happens, and someone comes up and kills me while I am froze.

I personally think Slant six is fixing up the final version and not really concentrating on the beta version. The beta for them was just a stress test on the servers.

bingo. it's an early look into the game so they can see what people like, etc. they can test their servers, get ready for GO GO GO and make some subtle improvements to their final build.

remember, this game is ALL multiplayer, so this kind of test is vital to what the finished product looks like but also on the playability of the finished product.

It was announced at the socom.com site that the beta has been extended til Oct. 9th so they can test patch 1.50 that will be released early next week. http://socom.us.playstation.com/default.aspx

This is good news, glad to see it happen.

Also, it means only 5 days of downtime now, i'm getting excited.

Also, those who planned on downloading the game will not be able to do so until the 16th, the game will still drop on the 14th though for those of us who pre-ordered or are picking up a hard copy of it.

Yeah at least now u can see the scoreboard again. Its still laggin pretty bad when u get in a shootout with someone

Since the new patch I have been getting a communication error box popping up saying statistics may not be recorded frequently during menus and when ingame. It is annoying and is costing me my life as well as getting kills as it pops up right in the heat of battle. Anyone one else have this happen to them since the 1.50 patch?

I get that before the game, but not during. I keep getting periods where my guy will squat down for about 10 seconds and I have no controls. this is usually when someone kills me.

These updates just seem to make the game worse.....honestly if it wasnt for the official bluetooth headset pack in. I wouldn't even buy the game. And thats a shame because I love the gameplay of socom, but it just doesnt run well and it's an ONLINE ONLY game.

Call me a fanboy or overly positive but just wait, the game when released will not have these bugs, this is still a beta and believe me, if these issues were as prevalent in the final build it wouldn't be coming out next week.

This is just a beta, and many people don't realize that a beta is not a demo for us to play, its going to have bugs intentionally, they fix and break the code to see what happens, and the results aren't always good for those playing.

i got on and in a game, but that stupid error keeps popping up on the screen and you have to press X to get rid of it. Very Very annoying, I got killed several times becasue of it. It happens like every 10 seconds too. this beta is halarious, they cant get a patch right. I hope they get a successful patch up by the release of the real game.

Therefor I'm only really paying $10.00 for socom.
