Am I the only one that reads what the game tells me as I play? I'm not that far in, but they told me how to hail cabs, how to work the radio, how to lock on to guys, how to shoot, etc...lots of questions people ask the game tells you lol

Maybe I have skipped the tips somehow? I remember seeing some, but some I don't recall seeing. I know you can going to brief in the pause menu and it tells you some of the recent "tips"

can you go to manhattan at the beginning of the game?

i tried to go to central park last night and the bridge i was going to use was blocked off by a police barricade. i didn't the other bridge though.

Yep it's under "briefs" in the options menu....

Well I won't bore you all with my struggles but I took the advice I was given earlier and while i'm STILL stuck. I feel a lot better. I found 2 cars that are perfect for the mission. The first run through I almost passed it and the closest I ever got again was scraping the guy's car

I think I should have it beat the next time I fire up my 360 which won't be for another couple days as I have things to do and movies to see

Anywho I do have one minor quible. I find the camera when driving to be hyper sensitive. If I hit something even a little bit the camera will move a bit. This is terrible for when i'm in high speed situations and it switches to a pseudo top down view because i'm so focused on what I have to do that I end up going in the wrong direction before readjusting the camera.

Still the challenge is fun and reachable for me so I don't feel like i'm hopeless.

I had this problem as well. However, I believe if you hit the "back" button (the one left of the big round center buttong) on the 360, you can switch your camera view further back. I think there are 3 or 4 views.

They're different games...You can't expect GoW level graphics in a open world game like GTA. Completely different animals. It'd be like complaining that Madden doesn't look exactly like GOW too...

As a programmer it blows my mind how many little things they account for, and how much they push the system to get it to do everything.

Of course I don't expect that. GTA can't have GoW level graphics therefore, it can't have GoW's graphics rating.


A 10 in graphics is misleading to new consumers. Give it a 8.5 or 9 and add a sidenote saying the graphics are superb being that this game offers so much.



Discussing GTA's weaker points is not going to make this game more enjoyable though so...

I agree with you, and I'll admit I was like "oh" right when I started playing...but totally, the casual fan will be like "WTF? 10?", given that people don't deep into things.

This game just sucks you in and is fun. I spent like 5 minutes watching Bas Rutten on the game's TV...I'm watching tv in a game...that's just crazy lol

I've noticed that too a bit, but as time goes on I'm better at driving and using the camera I think. I do use the camera angle that's a bit back from the car and that has helped. When I first started I thought the car controls were crap, but after an hour and a half I'm starting to get more into a groove. I just need time to learn everything.

Yeah I wondered that also lol. Hail a cab with LB (L1 on PS3 I'm assuming). I wouldn't have done this many missions if I hadn't hailed any cabs (sometimes Roman acts like he doesn't have any ). Past few missions I've had to go pretty far

Reading how long some of the sessions people are playing at one time, it just tells me how great the game is. You can just do anything. We even had a big rig and a helicopter race yesterday. Also, Big Respect for Rockstar for making a totally great Collectors edition. 90 dollars gets the game, a art book, a music cd, a keychain, a dufflebag, a safe deposit box that comes with 2 keys to lock it. Amazing, just amazing!!
