I didn't really expect a lot out of GTA but the game certainly delivers. It's an excellent game that I can see myself playing for a long time. Has anyone spent time watching the tv ads? I think the knife show was one of the funniest ones that I've seen. I love all the political humor in the game, they did a great job.

This freezing/stopping thing is getting out of hand. I'm going to switch out my copy and see if that does anything. It gets to the point where it happens at least once every five minutes (sometimes even more than that). I don't know whats causing it, but it happens after I've been playing a couple hours. Pisses me off.

Have you tried disconnecting from the internet? Secondly, try deleting the save, not game progress but the save, and then let it install again, some have reported that works as well. Swapping your disc wont do any good, its a problem that Rockstar is fixing, which tells me its pretty widespread so you may just be waiting your time and money swapping it.

Per articles Ive heard 25-30 hours but that didnt include doing all the side missions either so it would take you longer if you did that.

Most of the reviews I've read mention the main storyline somewhere around 20-30 hours long, but there's no telling how many actually played the entire thing themselves versus how many read that number somewhere else.

I'm not connected to XBL when I'm on. And how do I tell the difference between the save file and the progress file?

There's an auto-save at the bottom of the save file list, then there's the save you choose(probably at the top of the list, with a bunch of empty slots in between).

Whenever I steal a police car, and check to see the criminals I can hunt down, the computer always says it can't connect....?

Also, I've been going on about 2 hours now where I haven't done anything. My phone is on, but I haven't got any calls, any missions, nothing. Weird.

1) Did you accidentally do that thing with your phone that stops all story-related messages and calls?

2) Are you forgetting about a mission that you have to complete before the story can move forward?

Looks like I lost my game save. 22% of work gone. It just keeps loading, doesn't freeze, just keeps at the black screen and says the mission title on the bottom right hand corner.

I deleted the install data and am reinstalling it right now. Hopefully it works.

Everything was working last night, and now I did some PSP/PS3 remote play and now the save doesn't work. Weird, but hopefully it loads after this install.

Weird, it didn't work the first time around after the install but did the 2nd.

Seems like others are having trouble as well as I see on the PS boards. Might be something with the PSN again.

I'm not very far in the game (with work I haven't had a lot of time to play) but I just did a mission with Little Jacob where you have to gun down the drug dealers in the house, following Jacob in and helping him waste the thugs.

The problem is, Little Jacob died during the mission. I expected there to be a text message allowing me to repeat the mission (because I assumed I failed it), but no text message came.

In fact, the game auto-saved and I was given the money for the mission (I did kill the drug dealers).

So Little Jacob is dead. I've tried calling him and all I get is his voice mail.

My question is, to all those further in the game, is Little Jacob supposed to still be alive? Is he key to future storylines? I don't want to have to start over from scratch, but if Little Jacob is imperative down the line, I may have to.

Wow, use spoiler tags dude. And I'm pretty sure he's not completely dead, give it a few in-game days and see if he wants you to pick him up at the hospital.
