          re: Grand Theft Auto IV

Just started playing, hard to get used to driving cars after driving bikes in Lost and the Dammned.

On a personal note, I think that Rockstar really needs to bring back crazy pedestrians like they had in GTA III.

I remember just being able to stand on a corner and watch crazy stuff happen i.e. traffic accidents, mafia-triad wars, random explosions.

Now in GTA 4, the pedestrians are so varied but seem to real world like and well behaved.

          Its kinda boring.

I was going to say, I've seen pedestrians get in fights before.

I put this in my Queue earlier this morning, will download it when I get home tonight. Looking forward to playing it, loved GTA 4 and TLaD, already have a good 45-50 hours invested in both games, will enjoy another 10-15 of BoGT.

              re: Grand Theft Auto IV

I just wanted to share something with you guys.

I downloaded Lost and Damned about 2 or 3 months ago. I never got around to playing it with the rush of other games. Well I sat down couple nights ago to start on it so i can finish it and then get the new DLC (something Gay tony).

I try and play L&D, it says I need to re-download it. So I erase it off my hard drive and re-download it. It finishes, I hit PLAY NOW. It then again says I need to re-download it.

So I e-mail Microsoft telling them what is happening. I get a generic e-mail saying for me to erase it from my hard drive and re-download it. I told them in the e-mail I have done this already. So I send a e-mail saying that was already tried and still does not work.

So I get another generic e-mail saying for me to disconnect any rock band or guitar hero controllers from my system for it to work. I send them a e-mail saying I have nothing connected from either game. They send me another e-mail saying the same thing as the first e-mail, that I need to erase and re-download.

I am now pissed and send them a e-mail saying I am tired of the games. I am getting no where with you people and all you are doing is wasting my time. Days of pointless e-mails are a waste of time. I want my money back. Theft is theft and I want my money.

That was 2 days ago. I have not heard from them since. Any idea of what I should do???

                Phobia,

you can try clearing your cache. First delete the download, then clear the cache. You will have to download all system and game updates though. Not sure if it clears up game add-ons as well.

Clearing the cache on the Xbox 360 is a fairly simple process, and can be useful if the system seems sluggish, unresponsive, or you just need to get rid of a game update (for whatever reason).

The most important part of clearing the cache is knowing what to expect. All downloaded game updates will be removed. So if you have downloaded an auto-update for a game, in order to play it on Xbox Live you will need to re-download it.

User game saves, profiles, demos, videos, etc. are not deleted during the process.
Clear the Cache on the Xbox 360

To clear the cache on the Xbox 360 do the following:

                * Go to the Xbox Dashboard, select the System Blade, and select Memory.
                * Highlight the HD symbol and press Y.
                * Press X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X.

You will see a confirmation message to confirm system maintenance, proceed.

I should of mention this. Exact steps I did. I just mentioned erased my Hard drive. But the true steps I did were just this.

I erased the DLC off my HD
                  I then cleared Cache
                  I then re-downloaded

I lost interest in Lost and Damned. Didn't complete it. Can I buy and download this without finishing L & D without being lost? I LOVED GTA4 retail btw.

Look this is a perfect example of what I am dealing with in microsoft. PERFECT example of the lack of customer service in this day and age.

Last e-mail I sent two days ago.

There is no yellow icon for it being corrupt. Yet you going to send me a e-mail full of information on erasing the content.

Why am I even trying to get help from people who can't read. I am sick and tired of this half *** help. It takes you 24 hours to send a copy paste e-mail. Then all of it is a waste of time because I have stated numerous times what steps I did. Yet you still going to send stuff that will have ZERO help.

Basically I am at the point I want my money back for the content. I paid 20 bucks for a product that MICROSOFT SERVICES won't let me access. So since your service is not working, I expect my money to be returned to me. Theft does not stand well with me.

I have downloaded and bought other content from LIVE. This is the only product that has not worked. I know how to use all the functions of the 360 and have spent many many hours building computers. I know the ins and outs of systems. The Lost and Damned is not working and you guys keep wasting my time with pointless e-mails.

I expect to have my money returned to me!!!
What I just got in return from them today. This is why I am pissed.

We received your email and as I understand that you want to know on how to access the Xbox 360 game "Grand Theft Auto IV" has an additional episode available called "The Lost and Damned". We appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

To access content in Grand Theft Auto IV, you must first have the Grand Theft Auto IV game running either from the disc or via installing it to your Xbox 360 Hard Drive (HDD). Installation of the game is optional. You will first need to purchase and download the additional content episode, "The Lost and Damned" for Grand Theft Auto IV. For more information on how to download content via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, please click the following web link to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Yea jason I have had my system since the first week of launch of the 360 and only have had one RROD. So I have not had to deal with them but once. I got it back pretty quick and since then its been smooth sailing. After this crazy crap with The Lost and Damned I can see why people talk about how horrible they are.

I did not want to clutter the thread with all the other e-mails I sent them and received. But I am on like my 5th or 6th one sent to them. First couple I went into great detail about everything that was happening and everything I did. The first e-mail I got from them was flat out pathetic.

Once it was through I hit PLAY NOW and it launched it regular GTAIV. From there on out there is no way for me to launch Lost and Damned addon DLC. I have erased it from my hard drive. I have cleared cache, I have redownloaded it. NOTHING will make it play.
