Anyone pick the game up at Wal-Mart and were they selling out? I'm thinking of buying it tonight or in the morning.

Yeah I'm working late, and would like to pick the game up on my way home. Wal-mart seems like the only option, hopefully they've got some copies.

The Best Buy on North in Chicago had hundreds of copies. Everyone got one no problem. The initial install takes FOREVER, but the lack of load times in the game is freakin' wonderful.

Circuit City... get the game... and $10 gift card... apply that directly to a dual shock 3.

That's my plan tomorrow morning.

Wow, Best Buy was doing a midnight launch for it? I didnt think to call since their add says available Tuesday, maybe I should give them a call and see if they are after all.

This game is great so far I am amazed at the voice acting, the series always had great voice work but so far this is crazy and it is a pretty game, my first mission was to meet Roman at his place of business so instead of jacking a car I walked to the building just to get a feel for the city, no running just a slow walk.

It looks like we are really going to value the good cars in this game. The crappy looking ones are just that.. crappy. I can understand why people thought the driving sucked when they first started. But I'll assure you, once you hop in something like a Benz, driving is alot more enjoyable.

The controls are gonna take some getting use to also. I'm going to need some practice before I stick my head in a ranked online game. One pedestrian almost whooped my ***!

Oh yeah and I also noticed after I noticed during the cutscene at the end of my second mission, I saw some scratches on the side of the car and blood stain on the bumper from a pedestrian I hit.

I'm definately going to be playing this game all night tommorrow. Gotta get some sleep now though, really don't feel good and I got a test at 2pm!

Was gonna do the midnight release thing in 30 minutes but i've decided to pass.

Hope to get some time in this weekend though. Maybe we can get some saturday evening online games going.


BTW, whats the deal with everyone talking about the controls having a learning curve?

Just finished an hour of free roam and am going to bed.

But wow, was that fun. Me and my friend jumped in to a car and drove around shooting, until we drove us off the cliff lol. We swam around trying to find a way up and we eventually jacked a boat and got back on land.

There are weapons and health laying around the map in free roam so we kinda went off on our own. I was shooting RPG's in to traffic and driving around really fast. I'm a terrible driver, the controls are going to take getting used to.

We found a chopper later, flew around, and then jumped out. I didn't realize we didn't get paracutes. He landed safely in the water while I died with a thump on the hard pavement from about half a mile up lol.

This is all in about an hour of play, no missions, no real modes, and two people. I love this game already.

There were no cops in free roam.

the midnight launch wasn't so bad really. Got back before 12:10. Played it until 2:30, but I have to be up for work in a few hours.

There's just so much stuff in this, and I haven't even gone much farther than the few blocks around Roman's place. I sat watching the tv in the game for a few minutes even.

To all the ignored invites, I'll be hopping on Live tomorrow after work for sure.

I put it in at around 12:10 and let it do it's thing. I got sidetracked by all the stuff to look at and do. Even sat and watched the tv in Roman's apartment. Republican Space Rangers cartoon or something like that came on.

I didn't want to jump on Live tonight, because I knew I would be up all night. Gotta work in the morning. I will be playing the hell out of it after work though.

i go to a little mom and pop store to pick up GTA. well when i got there the line was long as hell. nerds and thugs all together in unity. i waited over an hour but it was all worth it.

i was watching tv on the game!!! tightttttttttttt!

Already posted. Whats funny is Jack Thompson has an agreement in place that prohibits him from going after Take Two for the games they make so now he is turning his attention towards Rockstar instead. I figured Rockstar would fall under the Take Two umbrella but apparently it doesnt.
