Oh, by the way, like Warhawk, GTA 4 uses the "Recently Met" feature of the friends list. So you can see who you played with and send them friends requests.Comment

Re: **The Official Grand Theft Auto 4 Thread**
Not the biggest GTA fan impressions:
I played GTA III and Vice City a ton but only played through maybe a third of San Andreas. Went to a midnight sale last night and was surprised it wasn't more crowded (got there slightly after midnight in Springfield, VA). Was able to essentially walk in/out with the game; played about 2 1/2 hours so far. Have it for the 360 and was a little disappointed initially w/the graphics after glancing over reviews praising the game nonstop (joke of a site IGN). Graphics have to be taken on the whole though (considering city size [seems IMMENSE], interactivity [a TON], etc.) so in that regard the graphics are very well done. Only saw pop in a couple times; for the most part everything streamed seamlessly and the framerate was very consistent. The radio stations I've listened to are excellent although I was getting a noticeable skip which affected my enjoyment a bit (like there was something in the way the data was being read off the dvd) - hopefully that'll clear up or was something random. Also thought the being able to watch tv was a surprise and the stations I listened to briefly were also very well done and amusing.
The NaturalMotion tech is both subtle and excellent; maybe this will place some pressure on it to be used in the sports games. It's very addictive just walking around doing different things. Apparently I've only barely scratched the smallest surface of the game, so the coolest thing for me so far was: I bailed out of a speeding car on the highway and as I was trying to regain my balance, a second car ran over me and then a third car's left front bumper cracked me in the head, killing me. Hard to describe; just felt realistic in terms of how the physics were applied and what occurred. Really looking forward to exploring the game more; enjoying it immensely so far (at work thinking about it)HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Re: Let's talk about... Grand Theft Auto 4
I haven't picked up the game yet (college sucks), but I'm sure when I get on Live, the first words I'll hear will come from a 12 year old (cursing more than likely). I kinda wish I had a PS3, as I was always a fan of the PS2. The 360 has a lot of cool people, but the loud, obnoxious teens are annoying.
It sounds like you PS3 guys got a good deal. "Better" graphics (just that slight difference), less teens playing, as well as the quasi-Xbox Live online function.Comment

Re: Let's talk about... Grand Theft Auto 4
My wife is picking up GTA4 for me this morning at CC. She isn't a gamer and doesn't hang around when I'm playing (games are boring to her, but she is cool with my hobby). My kids do hang out with me in the game room, so I will have to wait till later tonight for my first look at GTA4.Last edited by Pete1210; 04-29-2008, 08:30 AM.Comment

Re: **The Official Grand Theft Auto 4 Thread**
well seeing as i'm going to be at work for the next 7 and some odd hours I'm here to burn some time.
so far GTA has blown me away I ran out and picked up my copy at midnight and played it over my buddies house since I had to be at work at 8 and his house is closer to both the video game store and my work.
Anyway so far I'm loving the whole cell phone thing I put in a cheat for a police heli the guy at the store jotted on the receipt and had a literal BLAST had a little contest of who could kill the most pedestrians within 5 minutes
I lost but who cares?? No one loses when virtual mass destruction is taking place.Comment

Re: Let's talk about... Grand Theft Auto 4
I played this online with a few OS'ers last night. Man, what fun. Free roam mode is just great. It's really amazing how much you can do. We also played Cops and crooks mode and that was great too. I will say its best to have more people in that mode because the whole city is open and a match can end quickly if you don't have enough players. Also, theres a radio station(I think itys WFTT) and they had a skit about middle aged fat woman. I can't say what it says but I told both Auburnallumni and Dokkie when they got on and they burst out laughing.follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment

Re: **The Official Grand Theft Auto 4 Thread**
rofl, the attention to detail and humor is GREAT in this game
SpoilerSome taxi cab ran a redlight and accidentally hit this guy... Euphoria had it looking GREAT but it wasn't a full speed hit so he didn't roll away... when the guy realized that it was a middle eastern that was driving the cab (like most new york cabbies) he yelled "TERRORIST!!! TERRORIST!!!" and fled the scenehttp://www.myspace.com/phillthegenesis

another cool thing is how the people react to being bumped or nudged. All the little animations are cool. Also I noticed hopping in a few taxicabs I never had the same driver.Comment

Re: Let's talk about... Grand Theft Auto 4
Thats how I am now. I'll play in my master bedroom, or wait til the kids go to sleep before I play anything along the lines of GTA IV. With that being said, I've been playing the 360 version since 7AM this morning. The characters, the dialogue, it's all just amazing. I'm stopping now to eat some breakfast, then I'm getting right back on.
GTAIV is my new crack, that is all.Comment

Ok, I feel like this is a dumb question.SpoilerWhen you have to throw something at the window of the store owner where is that object? I'm sure it's probably somewhere obvious.
