and as mentioned in the other thread, it has some extra advantages. The game it beat, halo 3, did its work as a xbox 360 exclusive. For this game, there was nothing else coming out, and it's a next gen GTA that's releasing multiplatform for the first time in the franchise history..of course it was going to break sales records.

Impressive on it's own, I just don't see why it has to be compared to hollywood movies that sell $8 tickets.

I rented it. I don't own a 360 so there's no reason for me to buy it, and my roommate wants to wait until after finals to buy it, but I couldn't resist not playing it.

The only place I've seen them (granted, I'm not nearly as far in the game as most of you) was the Russian shop that you get from the beginning. They have regular glasses (kinda grandpa steez) and then some aviator-style sunglasses. That's all I've seen so far though -- same with the hats... only seen the 2 in the first store. I really wanted a classy Fedora or something cool like that, but no dice I guess.

Yeah, the only place I saw hats was in the Russian outfit shot, too. I like that you keep outfits from missions though.

yes, you can lose special abilities. I can no longer do little jacob's special ability, which isn't that big of a deal I guess. I just didn't like how when I wanted to complete missions, I either get a flood of requests to go hang out, or whining about never seeing me, then they all drop in percentage. In one hour, I had brucie, packie, little jacob, roman, dwayne, and 2 girlfriends all whine about not going out as much.

I think the friend thing is cool and all, but it can get somewhat annoying when you just want to play the damn game. Feels like a chore at some times.

And there is my major annoyance with the game, for as much as it does right and it does a lot right, the friends aspect is way overdone. Im growing really tired of getting messages constantly to go and do something with them. Secondly, if they are going to have so many people you need to entertain constantly then they also need to have more things to do, going to the same few places all the time also gets old quickly. Maybe they will release extra things to do with one of the DLC, for instance, playing basketball at one of the many basketball courts around the islands.
