Re: Rock Band 2
Guitar Hero and Rock Band peripherals are flooding the market at a fervent pace as the latest two installments in both series, Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2, hit stores in hopes of holiday sales gold.
It was only a matter of time before Gene Simmons wanted in on the action. He's never one to turn up an opportunity to market the Gene Simmons brand, outstretched tongue and all.
Through Hipstreet, Gene will be selling his personally designed Axe guitar replica for all versions of Rock Band and Guitar Hero on Playstation 2 and Playstation 3. It marks the first time the design has been licensed as a replica.
The wireless guitar touts 40 hours of battery life, a 30-foot wireless range, two sets of fret buttons, a strum bar, a whammy bar and Gene's superimposed autograph and mugshot.
The release date for the PS2/PS3 version is November 15 with a price of $79.99. Work is already underway for a Wii version for Guitar Hero, due December 1, a Wii version for Guitar Hero and Rock Band, due January 31, and an Xbox 360 version for Rock Band and Guitar Hero in April.

Re: Rock Band 2
Question.....For DLC content and Rock Band 1 songs being transported over. Do I have to unlock them in Tour Mode in order to play them in a Quickplay mode?Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
I guess I should have worded that differently. Once transfered over do I have to play them in Tour Mode in Rock Band 2 in order to get them unlocked in Rock Band 2 quickplay.Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
They'll be available from the beginning in RB2 once you import them, just like any DLC songs you might have purchased.

Re: Rock Band 2
Thanks man. I haven't purchased anything yet. I'm brand new to the Rock Band 2 scene. But I plan on purchasing the Oasis pack, some Motley Crue, Chili Peppers, and some Black Crowes after work. Can't wait.Comment

See I just couldn't picture playing some songs like Duran Duran with the "Axe". Just wouldn't feel right ha ha.Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
I'm back in Rock Band 2 heaven. I bought that Blockhead Rhythm Maker bass pedal and all is right with the worldI highly recommend it. It's better than the stock pedal in every way, and is probably the best option if you don't want to shell out 70+ dollars on one of the custom pedals. It's definitely better than simply reenforcing your stock pedal. It's built more like a bass pedal, has a solid rubber foundation, doesn't slide around and is pretty quite. Love it. My scores are already increasing because of the better responsiveness. Great buy for only 30 bucks.
I love the 20 free tracks. Some great, fun songs on there. I won't hold it against them that they cut my BTBAM short. Well, not much anyway.Comment

Better pic of the axe here: http://kotaku.com/5069435/the-gene-s...n-not-included
and here's this new article:
"Even before Guitar Hero World Tour was released, Harmonix were saying that they didn't plan on rolling out copycat 'recording studio' features in Rock Band 2. Now that World Tour is out, their attitude seems to have solidified.
Speaking to Videogamer.com, lead designer of Rock Band 2 Dan Teasdale said that he had played a little with World Tour's studio functions and come away with a few ideas.
"The main one is that you can't do it half-arsed," said Teasdale "If you want to do a way to let players create and distribute music, you have to go all-in - not just do it as a bullet on the back of a box."
"We actually want to find a way to for people to create music and express themselves, but when we do we want to make sure that people can sing, or the songs can be longer than three minutes, or that you can have more than 1200 notes. We want to make sure it's an authentic experience and it fits on the platform.""
