I got AC/DC for $3.30

Local rental store,I asked if I was first to rent it wich I was,copied the code then got rid of the code out of the book. My 360 is broke so I had to get rid of it and of course no achivements for it but 18 songs for $3.30 is a much better deal than $40.

Now I'm pissed that I never thought about that.

Wait, I sold my copy of AC/DC Rock Band and didn't scratch out / remove the code... is there a chance that I could lose my songs?

No, it's a one time code for the download. After the code is used, it is no longer valid and it stays tied to the Gamertag that entered the code.

On a somewhat related note, what happens if, in a hypothetical situation, I lose the file? Do I have any sort of recourse?

I just had to get rid of it because I can't use it right now. It has to go back to the store tomorrow and if I didn't get rid of the code the next person to rent it would use it and then I couldn't whenever I get a working 360 again...if I ever get one that'll keep working.

It should still be in your download history and you'd be able to DL it again.

The AC/DC file is in your download history.

Even if you still had the game, there's no way you could swap it over anyway.

DRM would tie use to the console it was downloaded onto originally. However, if you can sign into live, it's essentially tied to your gamertag rather than just the console. That's the way all the DLC works.

Yeah, and you can transfer DRM to another console once per year.
