Re: Rock Band 2
With the growing feud between Harmonix, MTV’s Rock Band franchise, and Activision’s Guitar Hero, this comes as no big surprise. Surely since Activision released the news of GH: Metallica, it should have been known the people over at Harmonix Music Systems, had something up their ‘backed by MTV’ sleeves. It wasn’t long ago Harmonix announced they were working on a new band game based around the Beatles; to be released later this year. I’m sure it didn’t cost too much to buy the permissions for using the Beatles music from a now broke Michael Jackson.
A reliable QA point-tester over at HMS has dropped a fat baby of information on the front steps of the church of NK. “Rock Band: My Chemical Romance” is currently in the works
The game follows MCR from rags to riches, with your band as their friends that have been there with them from the beginning. You start out playing east coast basement shows together, at some point you separate, only to reunite later, in a larger venues. Some may ask, “Do we get to play as MCR?”, and the answer is yes. It is also understood that you may take a trip into the world of the Black Parade.
A few new features are being added. During a select amount of songs, players who love the strum will have the choice of playing bass or rhythm guitar, to go along with lead guitar. Your bands singer will play guitar during tunes that require three stringed instruments. You have the ability to add a fifth member to your four piece band, if you choose.
The only thing that could top this off would be the chums over at Harmonix figuring out a way to incorporate a couple of the characters from Gerard Ways Comic book, “The Umbrella Academy“, here’s to hope.

Re: Rock Band 2
I actually like a fair amount of those songs, but I'm disappointed that Harmonix appears to be joining Activision in partaking in the "drive the genre into the ground" strategy of releasing new games.
So long as the songs of any new full-fledged games they release export into Rock Band 2, then I'm happy. Otherwise I won't buy it.
EDIT: An interesting note out of that is this rumored MCR game can handle five-piece bands... I hope that no one tries to do that on a standard-definition TV though, as the screen is crowded enough with three falling note lanes.Last edited by Hooe; 06-09-2009, 08:46 AM.Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
That would be the best setlist of any game to date. I'd easily pay $60 for the receiving end of sirens song. However, I'm sure that has to be fake.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Rock Band 2
So their plan to following up Guitar Hero's game using the greatest metal band of all time, is to make a game based on a really, really ****ty band? That doesn't seem like much of a gameplan to me...
"Hey - Guitar Hero has Metallica, what should we do?"
"Megadeth?"
"No"
"Led Zeppelin?"
"No"
"Mountain?"
"No"
...
"Some ****ty band that no one cares about?"
"My Chemical Romance??"
"BRILLIANT!"Comment

Please let that be fake. Not one of those songs interests me. The addition of rhythm guitar does sound nice, though.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers
