Re: Rock Band 2
I haven't liked the Metallica stuff across the board, not just RB 2. Enter Sandman and One were great, since then I haven't been pleased. Battery? Trapped Under Ice? Am I Evil? Give me something I know the words to! Sanitarium,Master of Puppets,Unforgiven,Fade to Black,Seek & Destroy,For Whom the Bell Tolls,Nothing Else Matters,Sad but True, cover of Stone Cold Crazy or Whiskey in the Jar...and so on. There's singers too!
For that matter what happend to:
""Metallica is one of the best loved bands in the world and their albums redefined hard rock and metal. Its one of the bands we had to bring to the Rock Band experience," said Alex Rigopulos, co-founder and CEO of Harmonix. "Rock Band will allow gamers to jam with the guys through their long, successful career, from young, raw talent to mega stars, playing the hard-rocking sounds that the band is known for.""
Though no where near as dissapointing as AC/DC. Don't even get me started on that.
From Harmonix themselves:
In Rock Band Rivals, form your own band, rock the world, and live out your ultimate rock and roll fantasy, with your friends, family, or as a solo act.
PS. For those of you that have been asking about more full albums, we’ll actually be announcing 6 MORE albums (in addition to Moving Pictures) before the end of the month. Want to be clear though that it will be closer to the end of the month (ie not today, as all of Harmonix is on a yearly summer party day off…except for our crew out here in Europe. We’re grinding away!) That G4 tease caused a little bit of confusion…but rest assured you’ll be hearing about more full albums WICKED SOON, just not this week…cool?
I wonder how these are going to work with add-ons and what you guys have been saying over the last few pages. Double bass could be sweet.

Re: Rock Band 2
I went way out and bought a Roland TD-12 electronic set. I've played guitar for years but never really tried the drums. Then RB came out and I really liked them and it wasn't too hard for me to learn so I thought might as well get a good set and hopefully they will come out with something to make hooking real sets easier.
I thought Harmonics might do that but it looks like the easier way will be GH4 and their drum set. Then I got to thinking about the GH4 drums and they have 5 pads that will be displayed on screen while RB2 is only 4 so hopefully something can be done in RB.XBL: Countach

Re: Rock Band 2
Ion drum kit impressions. I'm guessing they only work with RB 2 until RB 1 is patched. Seems unimpressive so far though, and again, we won't know until RB 2, but sounds like the cymbals are just an add on.

Re: Rock Band 2
I'd be disappointed if Death Magnetic was the chosen album, but I'm digging the single, and I'd rather have DM than Load or Re-Load. Ugh.Xbox Live Gamertag: MizzouBrentComment

I'd like the Black Album most,Master of Puppets second. I'd be even more displeased if it was DM. After getting nothing but new Crue if it ends up being new Metallica too that's not good,on top of that it's already coming to GH anyway. Sure it'd be cheaper but still.Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
That's true that DM will be available in GHWT, but I don't plan on picking it up (outside of maybe a rental). I'm really hoping we hear something SOON on the album releases, as well as the 20 free downloads that are supposed to hit by the time RB2 releases.Xbox Live Gamertag: MizzouBrentComment

Guitar Hero ones. I like the guitar better to begin with. I like the fact that at least for GH, the cymbals will be used from the outset, and just feel the Guitar Hero instruments are made better.Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
That's brings up a slightly funny point.
Some GH:WT developer made a snarky comment along the lines of: "yeah, all the equipment from Rock Band is compatible with our game. So people can use them until they break, and then buy ours."
Well the games was being tested at some game show, and apparently the cymbals on the drums were snapping right in half.
So I don't know if anyone can really say they're made better at this point. They haven't been tested in the long run, but that incident certainly doesn't make it look good.Comment
