    Re: Rock Band 2

    Hey gang,

There's three singles coming your way next week, in the form of a sweet 90's hit, the much rumored return of an RB1 band and a super teen pop track about a British television show with creepy marionettes... what more could you ask for?! This marks the debut of Silverchair and Busted in the RB library, and we're thrilled to have them.

Also, as a quick addendum to reassure any Chicken Littles out there, by this point most everyone knows that 3 tracks in a week isn't the norm and it isn't going to be. We've got loads more content in the pipeline, tons of awesome RBN tracks that are now coming out on the Xbox360 AND the PS3 (please see this thread for more details), GD:RB on shelves in a little over a month and more RB3 news coming your way soon. Rest assured, we've got plenty of content coming (in addition to the 1,338 songs already available) that will rock your socks off. Enjoy!

Available on Xbox 360 and Wii (April 27) and PlayStation 3 system (April 29):

    Busted – “Thunderbirds Are Go!”
    Flyleaf – “Again”
    Silverchair – “Tomorrow”

(All tracks are original master recordings)

These tracks will be available for purchase as individual tracks on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system and as individual tracks only on Wii.

    Price:

$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) per track
    $2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per track

Are they throwing in the towel in hopes that RBN will provide enough content to keep this train rolling?

I asked a few weeks ago, once receiving a replacement console (in place of the one I sent in for repair), if I had to redownload every song again in order to have them available to me while not connected to XBoxLive. We decided that I did indeed have to redownload each song individually. However, after doing just that, I still do not have access to these songs when not connected to XBoxLive.

So now I have two questions regarding the lisence transfer (moving everything from one console to the next):

            1) To complete the official User Lisence Transfer, it's apparent I have to be connected to the internet on the computer and on my XBox (via XBox Live). I can only do one or the other. Is there any way to transfer the lisence without having both things connected online at once?

            2) This is the 2nd replacement XBox I've received in about 8 months. I heard only one lisence transfer is allowed per year, would this include in the event of replacement consoles?

Thanks once again for any feedback you may have to offer. I'm kind of anxious just to get my tracks back.
Even though the licenses will move over you will have to be connected to Live in order to play those songs if you didn't download it to that box. If you want to play your download songs without being connected to live you have to redownload them. I've been through this a couple of times and it stinks.

Thanks for the input Shon. I think I may have finally gotten all of this figured out. I could transfer my data via XBox.com but as I mentioned, I was unable to have internet and XBoxLive access simultaneously (necessary for the transfer).

So, in case anyone every comes across a similar issue where they cannot get their paid songs back after receiving a replacement XBox, I called XBox themselves and they escalated my status or something, which basically meant instead of walking me through the same old troubleshooting, they sent my problem to someone in person to handle it manually. That person or crew, within a day or two, manually transferred all my lisences over to my new XBox. Now I just have to redownload everything again, as Shon mentioned.

Why doesn't RB2 come out with some DLC clothes/instruments/character styles/venues? It seems to me that they are really missing an opportunity to make some more money here.

I would guess it's because you wouldn't be able to play online with people that didn't have it. Though from my limited online experience with the game that would be a good thing because if they had that DLC then they'd probably have song DLC.

The Devil Wears Prada and All That Remains have more on RBN.

There's also a song named "Delaware Are You? I Don't Know Alaska." but I've never heard of it or the band, just thought it was an amusing song name. Sure looks painful to play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WI7K_Gb3TA

                    Edit for monday...

Crappy emo band that's awful but people like anyway...Silverstein...now has a RBN song available.

Yes. The best All That Remains song was released over RBN.

California rockers No Doubt return to Rock Band next week, rounding out their Tragic Kingdom offering in the Rock Band Music Store. Next week, the remainder of the ska-pop revivalists’ seminal, diamond-certified 1995 album will be available for download, joining “Spiderwebs,” “Excuse Me Mr.,” “Sunday Morning” and “Just a Girl,” which are already available in Rock Band. For Rock Band fans who already own these tracks in their Rock Band Music Library, the tracks next week will be offered as “No Doubt Tragic Kingdom: The Deep Cuts.” And for Rock Band fans who have yet to add the pop pleasures of Tragic Kingdom to their Library, the full album will be available as “No Doubt Tragic Kingdom: The Complete Album.”

Also available next week are singles from Australian singer-songwriter Orianthi with “According to You,” and Warped Tour alums, Picture Me Broken with “Dearest (I’m So Sorry).”

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 (May 4):
                        No Doubt – “Different People”
No Doubt – “End It on This”
                        No Doubt – “Happy Now?”
                        No Doubt – “Hey You”
                        No Doubt – “Sixteen”
                        No Doubt – “The Climb”
                        No Doubt – “Tragic Kingdom”
No Doubt – “World Go ‘Round”
No Doubt – “You Can Do It”
                        Orianthi – “According to You”
Picture Me Broken – “Dearest (I’m So Sorry)” *

(All tracks are original master recordings)

I'm getting really close to jumping off board with this. Seriously, the quality of DLC over the last maybe 3 months is pitiful. I loved the Rust in Peace offering, but that's it. Even the Hendrix pack didn't have anything on it that I recognized.

Who cares about a bunch of No Doubt songs that aren't even their best songs?

There has been a ton of crap for DLC for like the last 2-3 months imo. The only songs I really bought were the Megadeth album, Queen Pack, and Disturbed Pack.
