That sucks. But frankly, I wouldn't trust anyone employee at Wal-Mart to give you correct information.

I know I was able to get NCAA 09 at the WM near me so I'm definitely going to head up there and give it a shot. Hell, I'll drive to 3-4 Wal-Marts if I have to. Someone has to be selling it at midnight.

I didin't say that. It's my opinion. I just don't think that stuff fits with the game at all. I like all types of music. That is one of the few types that I just can't even fathom listening to. And I can't imagine that crap is mainstream enough for a game like Rock Band but I guess we will see.

I know some people were asking for harder songs so I guess they get it there. But I'd be willing to wager if that song, or songs like it, were DLC they wouldn't sell to well.

Now, with that said, does anyone else think the $5 charge to transfer songs is b.s.? Not to mention that a few of the songs will NOT transfer.

That's the beauty of Rock Band. They aren't limiting themselves to one type of music. It's music. It fits in the game. Pretty simple formula. Doesn't matter if it's Death Metal, Ska, Prog, Pop, etc...it's music.

And secondly, of course it's not BS. Why would it be? That's a hell of a steal actually. You're getting 55 songs for $5. They have to pay to have every song re-licensed somehow. They could have just easily said forget it and not bothered at all. And the reason Paranoid, Run To The Hills and Enter Sandman didn't transfer is because the other party wasn't willing to renegotiate or they were simply asking too much. It's not because HMX didn't want to put them in the game.

Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying? will be available for $10.99 (880 Microsoft Points) for the album, or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) per track.

just because you think its crap doesnt mean others do, and that is what you said. Like eli said its great that they are willing to offer so much variety.

Plus, the singer works for harmonix so mainstreamability has nothing to do with it.

I know some people were asking for harder songs so I guess they get it there. But I'd be willing to wager if that song, or songs like it, were DLC they wouldn't sell to well.
Have you seen the numbers on how the Thrasher dlc pack sold?

Not at all. To be honest I think we're lucky that we can transfer them at all. How many video games let you play levels of its predecessor? Is it BS that when I buy Halo 3 I cant play the Halo 1 and 2 storylines on it too? And it was a licensing issue for the songs they couldnt transfer, it wasnt their decision.

That is not bad at all. I will pick that up for sure at that price.

I think I'm confused. I'm talking about DLC packs or songs that we already downloaded. I'm not really sure what the purpose is of transferring songs from the Rock Band 1 disc besides I guess it makes things a little easier. If I want to play RB1 songs I'll pop in the RB1 disc.

Does anyone know why they had to re-license all the songs? That doesn't make any sense. Did the licenses expire?

The bands wanted money for there songs being distributed on another game.

You don't have to pay to move the DLC over. The $5 is just to move all the RB1 songs that came on the disc.

If you weren't talking about RB2 disc, then you were talking about DLC. They aren't charging you $5 for that. Your DLC is on your hard drive, so it's ready to play on either game.

I want RB1 songs on RB2's disc because of the World Tour challenges and daily battles that will involve them.

And they had to re-license them because the songs were only licensed for the 1st game. They weren't licensed to cover future games. Simply a legal matter.

Ok, that clears things up. Thanks. That makes sense then. Paying $5 to transfer the RB1 songs is a good deal if you want to add all those songs to the tour. That's pretty convenient.
