I love the game, it is different from past FF games, but similar to PS2 gen FF games. If anyone is on the fence about this and afraid to get it because they wont like it, i advice getting it.

I keep reading that this is close to FFX, which was one of my most favorite Final Fantasies.Comment

I agree 100%. I imported the game from Japan when it first came out so I kind of went into it blind. But some of the criticisms I've seen people level at the game really don't make any sense when you think about it in the big picture.Oklahoma State Cowboys 2011 Big XII Champions, 2012 Fiesta Bowl Champions

Re: Final Fantasy 13 (PS3/XBOX 360)
There is one positive to having full recovery after each and every battle, and I didn't really think about it until now. It completely eliminates the need to have an otherwise useless medic in your party at all times. With only 3 characters to a battle having one of them that can only heal is at times a pretty large handicap to the party. The paradigm shift allows you to still have one, but only when you need it - after the medic does their job, switch them back into a combat role. And, with the way chains and staggering happen in this game - you NEED that third attacker to make battles manageable.
Not all medics are like that in RPG's of course (I'm playing the Lunar PSP remake and Jessica, one of the healers, does almost as much physical attack damage as the main hero Alex!). But more often than not, you have to put them in the party for one reason, and it does limit the party's fighing capability.
BTW...am I the only traditionalist who refuses to use the retry button on a Game Over?Comment

I like the fact you have full HP recovery, it makes the battes much more fast paced.Oklahoma State Cowboys 2011 Big XII Champions, 2012 Fiesta Bowl Champions

I like the fact that I do not have to control all of the characters in battle. There is so much going on so fast that there is no way I could keep up.GT: BIG CAROLINA23

Re: Final Fantasy 13 (PS3/XBOX 360)
Ok, here's what you do.
SpoilerMake an Symbiosis (Medic+Synergist) Paradigm and set it as your default before the battle. Also equip any Spark Rings you may have. While Hope does Protect and Shield (Hope you have them BTW) on you and himself, heal who needs it. (It will start to fill Odins meter). When that is done, switch to War and Peace (Commando+Medic I think). Watch him and keep hammering him, as soon as he does his shield move, switch to Duel Casting (Ravager+Ravager) and demolish him, when he starts to attack again go back to War and Peace while switching to Symbiosis when buffs run out. When Meter gets high enough press X/Square. Hope that helps.Last edited by Candyman5; 03-11-2010, 03:01 AM.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Another poor thing is how you think you'll have a pre-emptive strike and then at the very last millisecond it gets taken away or it decides it'll take a second to start the battle this time instead and then don't get it that way.Comment
