Re: E3 - Operation Flashpoint2 - hardcore fps
SpoilerOn the 3rd mission where you have to take out the sams, you have to go way up on the cliffs arround the town and attack from there, Also where you kill the second Rocket guy theres a Ammo Crate beside the house, Thre you will find a nice gun plus the Queen Bee Missile launcher.
Hope that helps.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

SpoilerThere is supposed to be a diversionary attack, but no PLA Soldiers leave, so its 4 guys against 30. The Mission Structure in this game is not very realistic, i dont care how bad A** a team you have, You would never assault a fortified position when you are outnumbered 5-1.
And the Glitches, PLA Soldiers shooting through Oil tanks and actually hitting me? This game could have used about another year in Development to actually flesh out the problems because it is sale as Sh** right now.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

If you didn't know, you can send individual members of your team on a flank or suppression fire while you flank a position. Press R1/RB and flick up and down on the left stick or flick left for the entire squad. Once I read that I send them on a flank and I keep the enemies head down or I tell my heavy gunner to suppress.
Level 8 was my favorite level so far. It's intense.Comment

SpoilerFollow the waypoints to the left of the tanks. There is a small house on the hill with a guard or two. You can take them out silently and the radio tells you to make it your OP. Stay silent and make sure your team is set to hold fire. The radio will again tell you that the diversion is a minute away. I sat there for about 2 mins and the radio came alive again and told me to go. There was maybe about 5 people at the base when I finally attacked.
And the wedge formation is your friend.Comment

SpoilerMy mission stats said I died 10 times, until one time i literally just crouch-ran to each yellow marker. when you get to the last one, make your team wait while you sneak up to the guy in the shed - kill him without raising the alarm (either knife which is risky, or one good clean headshot - maybe squeeze off 2 quickly to make sure)...if you don't raise the alarm you get the diversion...escaping is still tricky though.
just wanted to say. Even though saving the pilot mission is hard as hell, man was it intense I had a shootout in it that reminded me of the movie heat. it was like 10-15 minutes of non stop agressive fire.Last edited by allBthere; 10-09-2009, 02:35 PM.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

I agree. I am sure there is a way to complete the missions, but I am seeing a ton of glitches and bad AI. My squad routinely walks out into open areas only to get gunned down. You would think in a game like this, they would know to stay behind cover. Also when I am down and need a medic, I will call for one 10 times and no one will show up. Even when I am behind cover.

My biggest gripe is that I'm always fire-team leader. They have all these guns in the game and classes, but you only get to enjoy them in multiplayer. I've played 2 missions IDEAL for sniping and there's even a sniper team involved in the attack, but i'm forced to be an m16 fire-team leader. They really should have added some elemets giving you more freedom on how you want to play. 7 missions in and no sniper and I believe there are 11 total. I think there might not be one at all...and even so, 1 isn't enough for me.
I hope they somehow add a dlc to allow you to choose your team for each mission and the member within that team.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

too bad you guys aren't enjoying the game...I wish I knew exactly what the problem is. I'm not seeing the same stuff you are. The best thing would be for you guys to co-op campaign it seems like. IThe only one I had problems with is fuel station and I had a ton of them, but once I got it, it was actually pretty easy aside from the getaway, but once you get there you get to start from there, so it was pretty simple.

Mission 8, you need a sniper rifle and you get one of an enemy at the beginning.
Mission 10. you get the .50 Cal at the start. Good Times with that beast.
I agree, I wish you can pick the loadout. The campaign I don't mind, but at least for when you play Single Missions.Comment

Re: E3 - Operation Flashpoint2 - hardcore fps
Are most of you guys playing 360?
I'm looking to pick this up for the PC Monday...as the PC has the mods and they usually are fantastic.
I'm wondering if they are all taken from the same basic build?
Some good impressions here and thanks.

I wish I could tell my team the Direction to expect fire at, if I am expecting a ambush in a certain direction, I should be able to tell my team to face that way. I like Online but i am getting alot of glitches in it that really stink. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment
