Re: Dragon Age: Origins
I dumped my 2 hander wielding warrior & created a dual wielding warrior & just for the slicing the head off animation, my decision was worth it.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
You can get the slicing off the head animation with a two handed weapon, one handed weapon or as a dual wielder. Chopping the head off with a battle axe is one of the top 5 moves I seen.Comment

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
I guess I never payed attention with the 2 hander but it looks pretty sweet with 2 weapons. Plus Im enjoying this spec more than the 2 hander so its all good."In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened." - Vin Scully

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
I bought the PC version and played about 8 hours but then I rented the 360 version and I think I like the 360 version better. The graphics are better on the PC version and the combat more strategic but I like the game for the story and the interaction between the characters and that is the same for both versions so I think I made a mistake in which one that I purchased.XBL: Countach

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
Eh...I think some people just prefer games on consoles. I used to be the same way...HATED using a keyboard and mouse for games. Morrowind is where I crossed to the darkside...lol.
It was the first game I put any time in on the PC. I had played the 360 version a bit and never got into it. By the time I got the bundled version for the PC there were so many mods it was like a completely new game. I've been sold on PC gaming ever since.
I totally get why some people prefer consoles though...for many, it just feels more natural, I think.Comment

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
Main reason I perfer Console over PC is it is the cheaper rout, less Pain in the *** specs to worry about and not ALWAYS worrying if the game you got will even play. If I could afford it I would be PC gamer because of solely on the Mods. If consoles found a way to support modding I would love it.Eh...I think some people just prefer games on consoles. Shooters and RPG's I prefer the mouse/KB and sports a controller.
Being able to get the mods etc.. are also a big seller for me as far as PC vs console. I'm pretty close to upping my PC to go back the it for my RPG's and probably most shooters.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
I guess my post about the PC Vs. the console version left some confused. I've always been a PC gamer as I had an 8086 with a 20M hd and CGA graphics but now since consoles are about the same level as PC's I guess I am starting to prefer the console but I keep buying tons of games on Steam and my PC has always been kept up to date for gaming.
As far as Dragon Age goes though I think it's unique in that my decision is how the game plays differently on the 2 systems. On the PC it is tactical and you have to use more strategy during battles or you will die a lot even if you move the difficulty to easy, on the console this isn't the case as it is more an action game with a little strategy built in. The developers have said that they dumbed down the console version because of the controls, so does that make me dumb, probably. The hook for me in DA is the story and the interaction and the combat is secondary and since I really don't like having to control a party that's why I like the console version more. I thought I wanted the "best" version of the game but I should have went which version plays the way I wanted to play.
Also mods are nice for the PC versions but as there are so many good games that come out now I don't replay games that often so it's not that big of deal to me anymore.XBL: Countach

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
You have tactics on the console version too, just not to the extent that it is on the pc. Thing about PC gaming is the fact it can get expensive with the up front cost. Because you literally going to be dishing out close to $1,000 or more for a decent gaming PC.
Even then you will have to buy a new graphics card every year. Hopefully windows 7 will last a lot longer then Vista, like at least 4 or 5 years.
But for anybody that is looking to get into PC gaming, I will give you some advice.
1. Invest in a good mother board, because this is your base. If this is solid and EXPANDABLE, it can last you 4 or 5 years or more. This is something that you don't want to cheap out on. Nothing worse is to buy a cheap mother board and then buy a graphics card and find out it can't run on your mother board.
With a good mother board, you can update the cpu, graphics card, sound card and ram with ease years down the line.
2. Cpu.......start off with at least a duo core, because that is the minium requirement for most games these days. Plus a weak cpu will hold back a powerful graphics card.
3. Ram.....3gb worth is fine, sure the more you have the faster things will run, but 3gb worth is fine. Since you want to a buy a graphics card with it's own dedicated built in ram anyway.
4. Graphics cards, stay away from intergrated shared ram type of cards. Buy the ones with their own built in ram. Me personally prefer the ones with 1gb or higher built in ram.
5. Power supply, at least a 650 watt power supply. Graphics card require a lot of power. Too weak of a power supply and you will cause your graphics card to over heat and under perform.
6. Lastly, make sure you have good LCD monitor that is HD. Makes no sense to build a gaming rig if you can't see it's awesomeness right ?Comment
