I shall hopefully have a copy of this to play tomorrow. Should be a fun experience at the least. I just hope I won't have to be flying from FLA to NY and back like Goh had to LOL

Don't send just 1 guy. Send them all then hopefully you won't have to,that never failed me. Though if it was in the middle of taking somewhere over you'd probably have to wait on the roof/street for them to finish like I did or try it yourself or just let it get taken over and take it back. You'll probably have to fly back to kill the made man anyway,I doubt those are random.

          Eurogamer Review - 4

Having had such a great run of form with new IP, this is a stark return to the EA of old, where a treasured licence is butchered irredeemably. Lacking both a challenge and soul, and failing to even engage on a narrative level, what you're left with is an overly forgiving shooter with weak strategy elements, which only serve to make it even easier for you. Having played right to the end, I wish there was something I could point to in its defence, but all I'm left with is the empty realisation that they've managed to somehow make this even less entertaining than the flawed original.
          Videogamer Review - 7

But then that's this game all over - decent ideas married to some questionable execution. In short doses Godfather II can be an absolute hoot, but sadly its shortcomings become more and more obvious the longer you spend with it. It's not a terrible game by any means, but when compared to GTA IV and Saints Row 2 - or even to the DS delights of Chinatown Wars - it's clear that there are better offerings in the genre. Hardcore gangster lovers will get some pleasure from it, but it's probably worth renting before you commit your cash.

I'll rent only because I love the Godfather series and the last game.

But judging from the reviews looks like it is somewhat disappointing which is a shame.

                Game Informer Review - 5.5

But laugh is all I did throughout most of this game. At any given time, you may see two character models occupying the same space. I was fortunate enough to see two topless call girls meld to create a three-breasted beast. I also got a kick out of shooting the bottom crate in a stack, only to see the others float magically in the air. Upon exiting a vehicle, there’s a chance that it may vanish. Periodically while sniping, my bullets were blocked by invisible barriers, even when the target wasn’t near cover. Police seem to have short attention spans, as they’ll give up during car chases and walk away nonchalantly after taking a shot at you.

The problematic gameplay, unfaithful story, and array of graphical glitches create an experience I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy, which is a shame since all of the tasks associated with being the Don of a family are handled nicely.

                Second Opinion - 5

EA mangles The Godfather worse than the RICO statutes mangled organized crime. This ugly travesty (we’re talking last-gen graphics) suffers from so many gameplay deficiencies and bugs the developers should head for witness protection. Non-player characters fall through couches and floors. Cars get stuck on retention walls and disappear once you exit them. Police inexplicably stop pursuing you during getaways (I hid behind the bank I just robbed). The miniscule “cities” of New York, Miami, and Havana are so small and uninteresting it’s laughable. These gaffes are all the more disappointing because they ruin the excellent Don’s View meta-game. Hiring made men, sabotaging rival families, and managing your crime empire is a riveting experience. If the Don’s View were skinned over a semi-competent effort, The Godfather II would have been an offer you couldn’t refuse. As is, this mafioso does us all a favor and turns state’s evidence as an example of how not to make a game.
                IGN Review - 7.7

The Godfather II places an interesting spin on the second film in the acclaimed series, adding emphasis on both strategy and action elements to give you a sense of what it's like to create and control your own empire. Multiplayer also puts a creative spin on using your henchmen to gain money and even items for your soldiers. However, players of action or strategy games of any variety will blow through this title thanks to the lack of difficulty in the single player campaign, and probably will only turn to the multiplayer once they've beaten the game, since they won't need to increase their henchmen's skills. It's still fun and has almost all of the elements of a great game, but until a harder difficulty level is added (which, fingers crossed, would occur with a future download or patch), The Godfather II falls a tad bit short.

No surprise that garbage IGN gave it the highest score out of the reviews posted in here. Reading the first impressions of the guy that had to travel back and forth made me pause and now after reading the reviews and other impressions I'll be saving my Gamefly slot for something better. MLB takes up more then enough of my gaming time. I am definitely not in need of another game at this point in time.
