It's messed up when you have reviews so low as in 3's where I have seen on other sites all the way to 10. For those interested, just rent or read user reviews. I'm even iffy about this.

Re: Godfather:Part II
I have the game but haven't opened it yet. I'm heading over to a friends house this afternoon to check it out. I'm a little skeptical about this game as I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on this game.
Its a shame, I love the Godfather, but I'm not going to spend the cash on a game that is subpar to the first one and that seems to be the case with this game.

Re: Godfather:Part II
I would say all of the complaints are warranted, but, if you really liked the first one, you'll probably play this to the end. Since they moved the focus away from New York, the environments are very bland. Also, the only way you'll die is if every cop is gunning for you. Assaulting a factory guarded by 30 guards from a rival gang never really feels like challenge since you can just run away to recoup; only the police really offers any pursuit.Comment

Re: Godfather:Part II
Me,personally I like the game. Sure it isn't the best game I've ever played, but I don't think it's as bad as people are making it out to be.
I don't put much stock in reviews. I've seen them rate games in the threes and the fours that I enjoy to play. I don't purchase games based on reviews. I base my purchases on whether or not I want it. I don't care about that stuff, all I care about is if it's something that I want. If it gets a great review then great,if it doesn't oh well.Comment

Re: Godfather:Part II
I'm not feeling this game at all. There just doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason to anything that you do, plus the Miami setting is more annoying to me than I really thought it would be.
And is it just me or is the game incredibly simple?
Guess I'll wait for Mafia II to drop this fall.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Well I rented the game and I like the idea of the game but I think they tried to pack way too many elements into it. Not a bad game by any stretch but can be a little frustrating.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I agree with you SPTO. It's not a bad game, just too much crammed into it and Don's view is confusing.Comment

Re: Godfather:Part II
Yeah the Don's View is the thing that does it for me too. It's cramming WAY too much stuff and everything is so compartmentalized that you're not sure exactly what to do. If they had simplified that a little bit the game would be a lot more enjoyable rather then being quasi-tedious.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Godfather:Part II
I rented it on Tuesday and ended up beating it last night (lol mind out of the gutter)
as someone mentioned earlier it is way too easy. I never died or got arrested. I like the new features with your family and such but GF I was more enjoyable because it was harder.
I wouldn't buy this game but it is a good rentalComment
