I'm almost done with my Hardcore playthrough (need to do Zaeed & Thane's loyalty missions, and then locate the reaper iff) so I've begun thinking about what class to use for playthrough 2. I'm torn between Soldier and Sentinel. Really just want to play a soldier, but I'm thinking Sentinel will make it easier for me on insanity.

Just finished up my second playthrough with my super ***** Renegade female Shepard.
SpoilerThane, Zaeed, Jacob, and Tali all died on the suicide mission, I kept the base for Cerberus, and I let the entire crew die as I didn't send an escort with them. Not to mention I was warmongering for the Quarians, sold Legion to Cerberus, destroyed the Genophage data, and the other not so savory decisions from the loyalty missions.
I did stay faithful to Liara, though.

I've actually started my third run. first did a sentinel run on Insanity, got with Miranda, pretty much fully Paragon.
did a Vanguard Hardcore/Veteran run(started on Vet, upped it to Hardcore about halfway through) chose this one to stay with Ashley, I ended up with most of the Paragon filled and nearly half of the renegade filled, I just chose the options I felt like no matter if it was paragon/renengade.
now doing an Adept on hardcore, which was my renegade and Liara character from ME1. probably stay with Liara. if/when I do a 4th run, it'll probably be my engineer from ME1 and get with Tali, which was actually my first character I did on ME1.Comment

yeah and I'm not sure I understand the whole "staying loyal to Liara" thing anyway. When I went to Illium she wasn't all that excited to see me considering I had saved the world, died and come back from the dead not to mention giving her a proper sexing.Lux y VeritasComment

also without her, you probably wouldn't be alive to play ME2.Spoilerthe Shadow Broker apparently had your body after the Normandy got destroyed, Liara stole your body from him/her and gave you to Cerberus to be brought back. she'll tell you this after you finished her quest and ask the right question afterwards.Comment

SpoilerI just didn't like the options this time around as a female character. I hated Jacob, Mordin was a little too out there, and I'm sure my Commander didn't long for inter-species love with a Turian missing half his face,LOL.

true, but most of it is an "act", although she has changed in those 2 years. she is really trying to hunt down the Shadow Broker now(with good reason).

I romanced Liara as well in the 1st game but didn't keep to it in this game. Although I understand her point of going after the Shadow Broker, she isn't the same sweet/innocent Liara.
And after being out for two years and being on a ship with a genetically perfected woman, a sex junkie, a virgin, and a Asari MILF, what Shep could resist all the temptations around. lolComment
