    Re: Mass Effect 2

Best game I have played in a LONG time.

With all the hype; I really never liked GTA4, MW2. and games such as that. I even found Assassins Creed 2 somewhat boring as well. In fact, the only games I really loved were Oblivion and Fallout 3.

But, ME2 is so well done. The way the story and conversation flows is superb. I find myself taking my time playing the game and not rushing. I am only 2.5 hours in and I really look forward to firing it up today.

Maybe I should give the first Mass Effect another chance. I only played it for like an hour before getting bored with it.

Well I just picked up...really want to play...but should I play Bring Down the Sky and all the side missions first..I just find the side missions so boring..and I DL'd BDtS but never got to it, but now that I have ME2 :S

I only did one playthrough..so maybe it would be worth it...didn't have a romance...get to a higher level...but I did already do the Moon side quest of course and a couple of others...like the soldier who created the cult ...unluckily my charm etc. wasn't high enough so I had to kill him..and another one where pirates take a ship and I had to save a scientist but of course same thing again..and he died...I'd hope if I did it in a 2nd play through that would carry over..

Well I'm getting ME1 today, haha, so I guess I'll come back here in about 20-30 gameplay hours.

Almost done with my replay of ME1. I went from 1 PM to 1 AM yesterday, pretty much non-stop except for bathroom breaks and meals. I went through all the side planets and visited every one, I think. I'm on Virmire right now. Almost there!

You press and hold either of the thumbsticks and it will show an arrow that points you to where you need to go.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

And if you're in a non-battle area you'll get the map when you click. Works pretty well, and I'm the meticulous "pick up everything I can everywhere before moving on" type player in these...

Just finished Archangel and that was quality, and also did the Normandy mission. That was pretty touching in a way, I like how they did it.

Now I'm sitting just off the ship at the Citadel...I looked at the clock and it was 12:30 and realized if I kept playing it'd be at least another hour. If I didn't have to work I'd probably still be playing or passed out from playing all night lol

Really like the interruption configuration. When I was heard about it I thought I was never going to use it as I would never know the right time. It works perfectly though in ME2 as you know when you want to perform a paragon interruption or a renegade one.

Even though a lot of my choices are paragon, I've performed a couple renegade interruptions with conversations with mercs. Awesome stuff.

Yeah that mission was nice. Would be very creepy to do alone though in real life. lol

So there are blue trigger interruptions too? I usually have just done the red (renegade) ones...I think I've only had them come up with Mercs so far, so still fit in with how I want my character to be (Paragon, but realistic...not everything is black and white). Usually I just have seen the red flashy trigger notification, so I can ignore that if I don't want to do that renegade thing and it'll continue on?

I'm sure they offer both as when I've skipped one I've always gotten the second choice right afterward. As with the mercs I think renegade has always popped first and I've always selected it.

I'll have to be more patient then...other people I'll probably want to be more Paragon, but the mercs deserve it lol

This game is great though...it's like playing through a movie, but a bit more open (since you can pick which things you do next...)

Yeah I've jumped on the mercs each time as I rather strike first than let them strike. My second play through I'll let things play out but on this one I'm doing things as I see fit. The interruption scenes are also very cool.

Also I still have about three characters to recruit but am already having a issue with picking a team; just so many good and interesting characters. I keep switching between Jack, Grunt, Miranda, and Mordin. Haven't used Zaed yet even though I picked him up already.
