Re: Mass Effect 2
If you don't have a character from ME1 to import into the second game then I would go through ME1 first.
I actually wouldn't have minded going through the first game again because I find myself saying "Who?" or "What?" sometimes when they mention some people or events/locations from the first game.
Bring Down the Sky was pretty solid. I suspect that it will eventually have an effect but I'm pretty sure it didn't in this game.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
I think I'm nearing the end. I just finished the part where
Spoileryou collect the IFF from the Reaper's.
So I have 2 questions before I go into what I think is the final mission. Which are the 2 most effective teammates to use and what is the best heavy weapon for Shepard?
Right now I have 6 different heavy weapons to choose from. I have the Firestorm, the Avalanche, the Cain, the Collector Beam, the M-100 grenade launcher and the ML-77 missile launcher. I've been using the Collector Beam mostly but I get the feeling one of the other weapons might be more useful since I got that kind of early in the game.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: Mass Effect 2
What class are you playing as?
For me, I loved the Cain. It's an absolute beast, and if you upgraded your heavy weapon ammo as much as possible, then you can really make the final boss fight SUPER easy with it.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
I don't know if I would want the last boss fight to be super easy though. I at least want a bit of a challenge since it would feel underwhelming if I just blasted the last boss once or twice and I'm done.
BTW I guess I'm not at the final part yet since I just found a new squad member after the IFF mission and now I have to do ANOTHER loyalty mission. lol.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Well I just beat the game. It took me 29 hours to finish but this is with some side missions still left. Credits are rolling now. I'm kind of underwhelmed.
Don't read if you haven't beaten the game....
SpoilerNot 1 person on my team died and going through the Collector base wasn't even that difficult. I came close to dying when all those platforms are coming at you with Collectors on them just before you find the Reaper human machine but other than that it wasn't too difficult. The Reaper machine itself wasn't even that hard. I used the Cain (it was at 159%) and took away more than half of it's armor, then finished it off with some Viper sniper rifle and hand cannon shots. I barely had any ammo left for any of my guns at that point.
After I took down the machine, I heavily debated whether or not to take the resources from the Collectors like the Illusive Man wanted me to but in the end I decided against it. I have a feeling that's gonna come back to bite me in the *** in ME3.
After I finished the mission on the Collector base, I basically told the Illusive Man to F off and got an ending where Shepard walked through the Normandy, nodded at all his crew members and then got a PDA from Joker with a ship design on it. It all ended with a bunch of those ships flying towards a planet. I'm guessing it's the Reapers coming to attack everyone.
Definitely one of the best games I've ever played, just like the original game. I'm not sure if story-wise I would rate this above the first game because I really liked the battle against Saren and the "suicide mission" in this game wasn't as difficult as I was expecting it to be. But I did really like the new characters in this one. At first I was hoping to have all my original teammates back but I grew to like all the new teammates you get here.
BTW my Shepard banged Miranda. Mission Complete.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Mass Effect 2
I never used the Cain until the Kasumi DLC. I figured I would take it and see how it was, and once I see one of those huge YMIR mechs coming at me I use it and I see it just disintegrate him. I was sort of upset that I didn't use it throughout the game. I mainly used the Collector beam as I found it pretty easy to focus that on the mechs or Harbinger.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Mass Effect 2
With the Cain you have to get a lot of ammo before you use it though. It's great when you can use it but it's not as useful as the other weapons with such limited ammo.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

I actually have two playthroughs saved right now- one as a renegade male and one as a paragon female. I started the renegade male one and I got so happy to see the people from the first game and then I had to be all rude to stay in character.
I want to be a paragon my first time through ME2 for sure and I didn't feel like playing with a female Shepard this time

Re: Mass Effect 2
Also, I got every ship upgrade except the med-bay to heal Shepard's scars since they healed themselves with my Paragon choices.
I did every loyalty mission as well and the only person on my crew that wasn't loyal was Jack because I pissed her off when her and Miranda were arguing and I sided with Miranda.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.
