Yeah, if you don't set up the final mission right, you can still lose people. Use your head and you should be fine though.

I finished today too! It was so awesome, top 5 game of all time definitely. I am a bit of a completionist so I had everything done in order to leave no man behind on the suicide mission. Didn't know that was the reason I was doing all the upgrades or loyalty missions, that's cool they had a real effect.

I put in about 50 hours with finishing up The Arrival today. Having finished ME2, I agree Kevin that this is a top 5 franchise for me and even surpassing my former favorite Gears of War. It's crazy, but I want to go through this again and try to save everyone in the suicide mission......I will miss Garrus and Jack quite a bit. You really feel for these characters, its well done.

I'm 20 hours into ME3 and I don't know what I would do without Garrus...

He's def. my favorite character.

I really like Garrus, was considering maybe loading up a save before the suicide mission and see if I can make the right choices.

as long as everyone is loyal(and that is not a necessity) and you don't put someone out of place during the last mission, you should be find.

Mordin is one of the easiest to die, but if he is loyal and you send him to escort the crew back to the ship, he'll live. you want strong guys to "hold the line" so that'll be Grunt, Zaeed, and Garrus. leaders are Miranda, Garrus and I think Jacob. I think anyone with Biotic can do the bubble shield, I've always used Samara. Tali, Kasumi, or Legion for tech spec. take a loyal Jack, tali and/or Kasumi with you for last battle as they are the "weakest" for the defending part. although I normally take Miranda with me, and either Tali or Kasumi. never had anyone die using this strat.

On my very first time through, I got lucky and saved everyone. Hopefully I can again. The only one I really care about saving is Garrus, and maybe Jack or Thane (not even sure if they're playable in 3 - and I don't want to know :P)

I got lucky as well. Strangely me playing favorites at the time helped out a bunch.

I just finished the game. One of the best games I've played so I have very high expectations on ME3 which I'll be picking up this week.

Yeah, I lost Thane, Samara, Jack, and Kasumi... big number.

The only ones I really miss are Thane and Kasumi..

I lost Jack and Kasumi, before we even landed on the collector base.

I think you will enjoy ME3, because regardless of the class you choose, you can carry any type of weapon. I love being able to use my Sentinel Shepard and still wield an Assault Rifle. The weapons themselves are so much more quality.

I played Shadow Broker while I was going through the main story and today I finished all remaining assignments by scanning all the worlds and then played the Overlord and Arrival DLC packages. Arrival was pretty cool. It's sad that there isn't anything left for me to do.

I had everyone loyal except Miranda when I sided with Jack (and ended up bedding her in Engineering after the suicide mission) in their little spat. And I did not have Zaeed's loyalty when I blew his side quest.

I only lost Miranda. And I really liked her a lot and regret not siding with her when I had that chance.

I guess I am trying to figure out how to keep both her and Jack loyal. I don't see a way to do that if you side with one or the other in their confrontation.

Any help on that?

I am going to start this up again after I finish ME3.

BTW I love the way ME2 gives you a ton of different people to choose from for your squads and all the loyalty missions made this game amazing. Something this game holds over ME3 is that feature and rich character development. ME3 is lacking this, but is better in other area's.

It is a fantastic game as well. I am only 18 hours in. Truly epic and you must purchase the DLC From Ashes. That is a must.
