I always get sucked into buying The Sims games. not that the game is bad or anything, but it always feels weird playing the game, like I'm not supposed to be playing it. lol

just picked up the Late Night expansion for PC.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing what The Sims: Medieval is all about. the pre-alpha demo presentation I saw of it looked pretty interesting.
I remember playing The Sims 2 on PS2 and don't remember their being multiplayer. My friend and I could create two separate sims for the story mode, but it still involved passing the controller back and forth between each other.

As for no total control, it's the exact same as the PC version. A lot of people thought when it came to the console that your joystick would "totally control" the sim as in how 3rd person action games, ie you select a guy and your stick moves him/her around the screen. But it's not like that, it's the same as the PC version where you click on your sim, then you click on the floor over here and he/she walks over to that spot. Personally I'm glad they kept it the same, giving total control over the sim would have made it a non-Sims game IMO.

As for my thoughts on it, it's simply awesome. I played from 6pm to 1am nonstop and it's as addictive as ever. The graphics are very nice and the new karma powers add something nice to the game that the PC version doesn't have. My only criticism is that the loading times between the parts of the city can take a little longer than I'd like, although I'm thinking if I install the game to my Xbox that will help (hoping). Also, the game did crash on me when I was creating my 1st sim and I had to re-start over but after that it was fine.

If anyone knows of a money cheat it'd be greatly appreciated!! I never played the Sims on the PC without my Bill Gates money and I'm getting a bit tired of not living a life of virtual leisure on my console version, LOL.
I told my wife what you said about changing households. She said when you quit game and load another household, it's a completely different city. She said that you can't change the current household within the current city or neighborhood like you can on the PC version. Can you shed some light on this.

Hmmm...I will have to try to see but I'll bet that's a console limitation in regards to memory constraints maybe. I won't know until the weekend though. Tonight is Fable 3 night and then tomorrow we'll be out all night at the movies and doing a Halloween tour.

So I installed the game to my hard drive last night and it installed about 3.5gb. Has anyone else done this and if so how much does it decrease the load times? That's my only issue with the game is the crazy load times for going between parts of the city.

I have mine installed on HD also, and I am seeing great loading times.. No longer than 5 sec max for everything. Try clearing you cache, uninstall, then reinstall the game.

Edit, screw the url, you actually have to go on youtube and type in the sims 2 multiplayer. there's a video on there that shows the split-screen multiplayer. Stupid youtube.

You can actually create a neighborhood by customizing each home that is available in the neighborhood. This is how it is done.

                1.Create a Sim
                2.Buy home
                3.Go to town map
                4.Click on your home/lot
                5.Interact with the home
6.Two options will come up (copy house and replace house)
                7.Replace house
8.Click Yes, on selling old home
9.You now have the option for EMPTY LOTS.

For more lots and user created homes while selecting your new home visit the exchange.

                This game is amazing.

I will update as soon as I find one..lol...But so far if you want to go the long route the best money making option is to become a WRITER. Buy a computer and that will be your gold mine. I am making $3,000 in royalty checks a week from writing 3 kid books (best sellers BTW).

HAHAHAHA..... Sounds like my wife too. The userface in the game is complex compared to the PC version it took me 2 days to figure out you can even build houses on this. It works, I just built a bachelor pad. If you don't have a empty lot already download one from the exchange in the main menus.

Hey Str8artist, what is the command on the controller to raise/lower walls in the game? I have yet to figure that out. I'd like to see what my house looks like from the outside with the walls up and the roof on for starters.
