Well your not alone as I havent played COD:MW2 either but at the same time Im not playing the Sims 3 either. We have it but wont be buying the expansion as I think the entire Sims formula has just burned us out at this point as we havent touched it in months.

Can anyone who understands hardware help me out here?

I want to run this game, so I tested it on Can You Run It (cyri.systemrequirements.com).

The only category I fail in is the Video Card, but I passed all three subcategories within the Video Card section. I have a GeForce 7000M Video Card with 793 KB Video RAM, 3D Support, and Pixel Shader Version 3.0. Can anyone explain why I can't run the game?

(I haven't purchased The Sims 3 yet, so I don't necessarily know that I can't run it, but I'd like to make sure before I buy it)

If it's anything like what I got when I tested for Starcraft 2, you probably meet the minimum requirements, but don't meet the recommended. They recommend a GeForce 7200 on their site as the lowest video card. I'm sure you could play it on lower setting than normal though as I was able to do with StarCraft.

To avoid a new thread, is anyone getting this for the console? My girlfriend insists on getting it next week so we will, and Im sure I will play it at some point, but I also noticed that not a single soul had said anything about this coming out so I figured it was worth asking.

Usually the console version of The Sims is like the red-headed stepchild of the family. Not sure if that's still true with this one or not though.

Speaking of this game, I really want to get it but have no clue if I could run it at all. My computer isn't really the greatest or fastest but I guess it's good I found mKoz's post about that "can you run it?" site.

Rental. Console versions (except Bustin' Out which I liked a lot) usually have something that works great in them but the rest of the game is pretty average. The Sims 2 had the different way to prepare meals and different effects to them. I liked that but everything else was meh. DLC could really help this one out though.

While I agree, Im under the impression that its basically the PC version on a console, unlike the previous console installments. My other half wants it so unfortunately Im stuck either way, even though I would prefer to grab Force Unleashed 2, but once we get it next week I can let you know how it is in comparison to the PC version since she has that as well.

i want to get it purely for the idea of playing something totally different than what i've played before in life, but who knows. I'll probably try to take advantage of the best buy buy two 1 free deal and get it that way.

From what I read, it's identical to the PC version, totally different than previous console efforts.

I've played a couple Sims games on the console and hated them but if it's truly like the PC version I may just rent this and see how I like it.

My girlfriend has been talking about Late Night since it was announced. She'll be in line for the midnight release @ Gamestop. I'm not gonna bite on the expansion or the console release. I promised to myself that I'm done with the Sims. I know I'll end up playing it for a week or so like I always do and then it'll collect dust.

Question, is the console release going to be the original Sims 3 as it was released for the PC or is it TS3+ all the expansions/new items released until this point (including Late Night)?

This is the exact same question i have, but have not been able to find an answer.

The trailer on the 360 dashboard shows a lot of brief content that seems to be from the expansions. Like i thought i saw a nightclub scene, with some world adventure sprinkled in. It actually looked even more unique than the pc version.
They also added Karma points. On console i might actually spend more time playing it. we'll see.
