This game sounds incredible. I honestly can't recall another time where there were so many games I wanted to play that were coming out so close to one another. Really looking forward to this one!

Depending on how much water is in the game, it could be a real disappointment that water kills you

that is under UN-confirmed and allegedly was only due to the PAX demo using water as a boundary to keep people from going too far. but it's said tha you can drown if you go too far or long swimming

supposedly each of the 3 sections of RDR is about the same size map as GTA IV

Size doesn't really do anything for me after playing Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and, to a similar extent, Just Cause 2. Those games are almost TOO big for their own good. It's great that it's big, but I still need to see just how "alive" it is before I'd consider size a selling-point. This game's #1 on my must-have list regardless ... just saying.

Why do I feel like I shouldn't even bother with this post? Meh.

I agree that all that wide open space doesn't mean much when your in the old west where there is nothing for miles and miles. Still can't wait to play both single player and multiplayer.

I would argue that's WHY it means so much. There was a LOT more open, empty space back then, so for this game to capture the right feel, there should be plenty in it as well.

keep in mind, all that open space wont just be boring nothingness

besides awesome scenery that adds to the feel of the game you can hunt animals and skin them to trade in town. And there are also a ton of different side missions with random npc out in the wilderness... one of the reviewers said he couldn't go more than a minute w/out seeing somebody (a large number of whom needed his help in some way and could trigger side missions)... and rockstar has already confirmed these encounters are unique and random
