Hennigan's Stead, to the north-west of McFarlane's Ranch, at the hill where the boar picture is. If you're patient enough, they'll be there. I've killed as many as four in a five minute span in that area.

That is actually the only place I have found one and it was by accident. I was looking for boars and all of the sudden my horse crumpled and sure enough it was a cougar. I ended up dying. I have looked there once after that time, guess I will try it again and see if I get lucky.

Yeah, that's where I got my 2 with the knife...

It was hilarious the other night, my cat snapped and was stalking me just like the cougar would (same animations basically haha). I was expecting to hear the cougar roar when my cat pounced on my leg lol

          Thanks!
It wasnt really an mission. All we did was the Gap Tooth Breech Gang Hideout (The one with the Mine Cart) to get the stage coach at the end. All 5 of us jumped in and rode to Black Water to mess with these 2 other human characters there. It was pretty funny.

During the same game when they left there was a guy at the house in Tall Trees hunting Cougars. All 5 of us went there and trapped him in the house. We then proceded to fire bottle the hell out of the house. When he respawned he kept getting spawned killed by Cougars and Bears...LMAO. Nothing funnier then seeing him appear just for a Brown or Black blur to swipe him.

            Re: Red Dead Redemption

I find myself playing mostly with the ouble barreled shotty. It was good enough for William Munny, killer of women and children and such, so it should be good enough for John Marston.

I haven't finished the game but I really wish the train had been used a little better in the gameplay. So far I've had no good reason to get on except for a sharp shooter challenge. I would love to do a couple of train robberies, stage coach robberies, and bank robberies as part of the storyline.

Also the game really doesn't lend itself to being a bad guy. There is no real reward for rambunctiousness. The only thing it does is raise ur bounty and make it harder to roam around unmolested. I usually save my game and then go on a killing spree in a border town somewhere. It cuts down on the interference from law men.

and practice. you respawn right in same area quickly.

or does Free Roam count toward the Challenges anyway? I forget
Free Roam's challenges are separate from the single player game I believe.

If you don't find one at Hennigan's Stead, try just north of Ridgewood farm. I killed 3 in about 10 seconds at dawn in that area. Aalso look for the snowy part of Hennigan's Stead. When you get there, go down the hill some and usually you will get attacked by a cougar on the way down. That's what's happened to me at least.

They are just there randomly at night around cholla springs. Look for a larger slower flying bird after you shoot your gun off and it should be one.

Where the hell are beavers? I rode all along the river up North and found none.

Me too. I use it for every up-close kill or shoot-out. I feel like a mix of a badass Western character and El Mariachi.

I don't know, nothing beats being within point blank range against 3-5 guys and poppin off head shots with your revolver and dead eye. Those moments are pure bliss.
