Question for you Max Payne vets. Didn't play 1 or 2. I've heard good things about the game and am in dire need of something new. Will I be OK not knowing the story? And also with GTA V within the next year, will it burn me out to that style game? TIA for your input.

Max Paye and GTA are very diffrent games and not close to one another so thats a non issue. GTA is a open world game and Max Payne is more of a shooter.

I just finished the this and have never played the first 2 and still thought the stoy was good and didn't fell left out. The do make a few mentions of the previous games but its not the main plot of the new story. On a similar note the way they tell the story is diffrent then most games.

Alright good to know. Read back a few pages and seems like you guys really enjoyed this game. Trading in ghost recon, FIFA 12 and TW 13, so I should do alright.

Just wanted to chime back in. Traded Ghost Recon, FIFA 12 and Tiger Woods 13 for a whopping 102$ !!

So I picked up Max Payne last night and played til chapter V. Really enjoying it thus far. I definitely need to use ( and learn) the bullet time more often. I really didn't use it much at all. Feels like the story is moving along quick, and if somehow I finish in a week (doubtful with a 4year old and 1 month daughter running around) I'll return it for a full refund to Gamestop.

I usually play games for the multiplayer, but this feels very similar to red dead in a different setting. As it should being R*.

I didn't use bullet time much in the first few chapters either but as the story goes on and the game gets harder you have use it more. Well unless you are alot better at video games then I am.

I just got this for PC. I will boot it up for the first time on Sunday.

I am hoping there is some semblance of an online community, because I want some MP action!

Well this blows, I was searching everywhere for my Max Payne 3 and couldnt find it, I ended up giving up and a few days later I hear a snap under my shoe, I pick up a pair a shorts and t-shirt and see my Max Payne disc snapped in half.....

                        Re: Max Payne 3

Tried going thru this game on Hard w/ free aim and I got to Chapter 5 and I'm done lol! I can't stand the spots the devs chose to drop you in. Either there isn't enough cover or I just have horrible accuracy to survive.

I can't find the correct setting for the aim cursor speed and I lose sight of the little itty bitty dot when things get hectic. Another thing that I miss about the old games is how the aim cursor was always on screen like an FPS game. It made quickly taking down an enemy easier that time it takes to go over the shoulder is usually all it takes for me to lose my angle.

I say all this but I realize I'm probably just not good at this game when it comes down to it. My reflexes aren't fast enough maybe... wish the controls were a bit more friendly to me but hey it is HARD mode for a reason right?

I'm normally not an online shooter kind of guy but I thouroughly enjoyed MP3 multiplayer last night. Also the leveling system seems pretty addictive as well.

Started playing over the weekend, pretty fun game. Put about 3 hours in so far. Also just realized that this is the only story game I've played for so long without unlocking an achievement.
