Maybe I'm blind, but I never saw feathers on the maps, only treasures...do you have to unlock this somehow?

No, not the maps you can buy in the game. There are maps on the internet you can download/print.

I just started this game this week. It started out a little slow mainly because I was kind of lost not having played the first one, but it is picking up now. I'm only in sequence 2 but now that I'm getting more weapons and understanding the map and control schemes, things are looking up

Ubisoft Dates First Assassin's Creed II Expansion

The first downloadable expansion pack for Assassin's Creed II is set for release next week, publisher Ubisoft confirmed this morning via Twitter.

Battle of Forli, the first of two planned DLC packs for the title, will be available worldwide on January 28 for 320 Microsoft points on Xbox 360 or $3.99 on PlayStation Network for PS3. The second pack, The Bonfire of the Vanities, has no set release date, but will be available sometime next month for $4.99

And just as a reminder, each pack will require about 1GB of free memory space, so fans may want to do some house cleaning this weekend to prepare.

That's pretty cheap but too bad I won't be getting it for awhile with Mass Effect 2 coming out.

Finally got up to this game and I'm loving the game, more than the first even. I'm only done with sequence 6 but have completed all side quests up to this point.

I like a lot of the additions; the Villa, shops, health system, and swimming! More as well...

BTW, hidden dual blade is absolutely badass.

Eurogamer: Battle of Forli Review - 5

While Battle For Forli is reasonably priced for a piece of DLC, you don't get an awful lot of entertainment for your money. The missions lack challenge and variety. The kicker is that the entire sequence is over and done with inside one hour, leaving you with little more than some cinematics to watch - but frankly, you could probably catch those on YouTube for free and go out for a beer instead.

By any objective measurement, this a poor attempt at adding a new sequence to an excellent game which already boasted a generous amount of content. Had it added more explorational elements, or another secret location to discover, it would have been worth the effort - but to simply stitch together forgettable melee encounters and chases with new cut-scenes is some distance from being enough.

IGN: Battle of Forli Review - 7.4

The first expansion for Assassin's Creed II is a little underwhelming, but there is short-lived fun to be had with it. There is only around an hour of gameplay included, but the four dollar price tag is also easy on your wallet. Fans can expect a nice mix of combat and stealth gameplay in The Battle of Forli. While you won't visit any new locations, Caterina Sforza is a strong addition to the cast. This battle may be more of a skirmish, but it's enjoyable while it lasts.

DLC didn't really last long but I've spent a worse $3 in an arcade. Nice little brawl in the streets mostly.
