I was really hoping to play this today. Went to the video store and they had 7 copies but they were all rented out.

For anyone who's been playing for awhile, have you gotten a house yet? I'm about 4 hours in, and still nothing. I found a place to sleep whenever I want at
          Spoiler
but I am wondering how far in I need to get or where I need to go to get someplace to store all of my loot. Or is this gonna be a game where you can't store anything like you could in fallout 3 and you just have to sell it to get rid of it?

I am but like others said I'm just a dang fool waiting for mods/patches.

Any other problems? People with Nvidia cards are reporting a lot of problems. I've got ATI I'm just wondering.

I'm just about 2 1/2 hours in and I'm really enjoying it so far. Played a little bit of Fallout 3 but this one is just clicking with me I guess. Already so much to do. Trying to finish up a really long set of side quests before going back to the main story for a bit. Playing on PS3 and it's definitely choppy, it'll stutter briefly every minute or two but haven't seen any crazy glitches or complete freezes yet.

Hopefully the freezing gets worked out, as that's my number 1 pet peeve when it comes to games.
But, man, I hate waiting...I must resist the urge to buy New Vegas for just 12 more days. This game looks too awesome.

There's just way too many good games out right now!
Ummm, ok...so within an hour or two of posting this, I actually have the game LOL thanks to my GF(who also enjoys playing Fallout) as an early b-day gift. Looks like I don't have to wait after all! I can certainly say I did not expect that, even though I know how much she wants to play it as much as I do. Freakin' awesome.
I find it hilarious that I had just posted about this and then BAM out of nowhere, there it is. Yep, it's an advantage to have a girl who loves gaming as much as you do.

Firing it up now, I may get in an hour just to mess around, but I've got studying to do for a test tomorrow so I'll hand over the controller to her for most of the night.

...dumb Microeconomics test I have tomorrow taking away from my Fallout time...uhh, I mean, special time with the girlfriend. HOW DARE YOU.

Anyway, enough idle chat that I'm sure you could not care less about, so carry on with impressions folks. I shall give some initial impressions later.

                          At least not on PS3.

Playing on PS3 right now and like all the reviews say it's just like Fallout 3. So if you are familiar with that you can jump right into New Vegas.
Graphics are slightly crisper than the previous title on PS3 so thats a plus. My guy can't shoot what so ever right now, but I do like the new iron sight view. The Create a Player has not changed whatsoever, so your character will look just like the character you made in Fallout 3.

If you want a different experience than FO3 try hardcore, so far it's great fun. Random encounters with strangers in Hardcore mode make me want to play the bad role and take their stuff. It's a different feel in this mode, you are more careful. Hopefully I can stay in this mode without wanting to change back.

                          My SPECIAL went like this:
                          S=7, P=6, E=6, C=1, I=7, A=7,L=6. We'll see how that will work.

edit: From the tech side. No freezes yet, but I haven't had any major encounters either. Just frame rate hits every now and then especially with sounds. It's just like Oblivion and FO3, so if you dealt with those you'll be fine here to.

                              Re: Fallout: New Vegas

I played about 3 hours until my wife got home.

No freezes on the PS3 but it is choppy at points, it stuttered every couple of minutes for a second, but not a big deal. No major drops in framerate or glitches so far. I had no problem jumping into this game, it is very similar to FO3 which is not a bad thing at all.

I'm playing on Hardcore and it is cool. I make sure I have enough food and water and got my a good nights rest lol.

The graphics are crisper then FO3 and load times have been great. I liked reading the different slides while the game was loading in FO3, but in NV the load time is so fast you don't have time to read the whole slides.

Aiming down the sights is cool but combat definitely seems tougher then in FO3, maybe just because I have poor skills and weapons. I can't aim for **** lol.

I LOVE listening to the radio on this game, the music is fantastic.

So far in my 3 hours of play I'm loving this game, and have only stopped playing it for 9 minutes know and I'm already itching to get back on it.
