    Re: Fallout: New Vegas

I've been reading the Gamespot forums (ugh) in anticipation of this game and see a lot of complaining about how similar this is to FO3. I don't think that is a bad thing at all. I loved FO3 and I have no problem with it being similar, plus with all the additions they have added. Plus we get a whole new storyline and quests. I'm not sure why people expected a completely different game with no similarities.

Are the people complaining the Fallout 1/2 loyalists?

Because the people on Gamespot/Gamefaqs are idiots?

I wasn't a huge Fallout 3 fan (it wasn't a bad game, it just wasn't fallout), but to expect New Vegas to not be much like Fallout 3 is asinine.

I hope it's a lot like fallout 3. If it's even half as good as FO3 I'll be happy. I anticipate pretty much the same game with a slightly different story. And that is fine with me, I'm much more worried about freezing issues than I am about it being similar to fallout 3. FO3 is one of the best games I've ever played, so being too similar to FO3 is in no way a bad thing. Why would you change a bunch of things if you already have the base to one of the greatest console games ever?

Other than the freezing the game has been great. Some will have freezes some won't. Is it similar to F3? Of course. Is NBA 2K11 similar to 2K10? Of course but it is still a brilliant game and Fallout New Vegas is no different. Its a brilliant game from what I have exp up to this point

Yeah I remember FO3 froze a ton for me, my brother and my sister. So thats 3 copies on 3 different 360's. I will probably hold off on this since I am getting EA MMA tuesday.

I will save this game for the heart of winter when I need something long to play and I do hope it is long. I remember this sales associate told me FO3 was long.....and it wasn't, beat it in one day and so did my sister and younger brother.

You beat FO3 in one day? Did you just do the main storyline?

You really missed out if you beat it in one day. That means you only did the main story, nothing else. You must of ran through it, like literally ran because the Wasteland was huge, and didn't do any interactions or build up your character or anything. I put over 100 hours in the game completing everything.

Ha really. I could see somebody saying Fable is short, but not FO3 or Oblivion. Those games are monsters.

Yeah... if you just did the main quest line, you really missed out.

The exploring and the side missions are what made the game amazing. If you just followed the story it wasn't an open world game for you, and you just went where the game told you to go. There were lots of cool and fun things to do in the game that were not in the main quest line.

Yeah, that's insane. Within a day, I don't even think I had hit Megaton yet. I spent well over 100 hours on my first playthrough, and stopped probably another 50 or so hours into my second playthrough.

Seriously. The first couple days I was just exploring Megaton.

Yeah just did the main story line. But it gotten to the point now I want to save some of these longer games for the heart of winter when typically the number of must have games grinds to a halt.

So I probably pick this up and Fable 3 like in January. Normally there isn't a big name game released in January and February. This month has been awesome really with the number of games I bought this month alone.

I know picking up Black Ops next month and the Battlefield Vietnam shoud be out next month as well.
