Re: Fallout: New Vegas
Man... I think I'm getting too far into the main quest line. I've only done two of the main quests so far, but I'm already at level 12, and I feel like I can sort of see the end coming already. I hope I am wrong and there is more to the main quests.
Either way, I'm going to stick to side quests and exploring for a while because I can't find any information on where I am exactly in the story yet. I'll wait until more people actually beat the game so that I know how far I am along in the story.
I know that Obsidian said you'd have plenty of warning about the end of the game coming, but I'm going to go cautiously until more people are to where I am at or have beaten the game before I go back to the main quest line.
Anyways I'm just as addicted to this game as I was Fallout 3, if not more. It's better in almost every conceivable way to me. I just hope that they will put out a patch soon, because I'm now about 11 hours in and have 4 freezes and counting.
EDIT: And I don't know if anyone has seen/fought one or more of these Nightkin guys (You will eventually), but they scare the hell out of me.Last edited by CC; 10-20-2010, 06:32 PM.Comment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
So I spent an hour rummaging around after first making my character, then I discovered that it gives you the opportunity to reroll your character when you leave the first town. So I started over and maximized my time in the first town bySpoilerI set Charisma and Perception up to 10 and Luck up as high as I could with everything else at 1. This let me get 3 levels, beating all locks/computers/speech checks and really loot the town good giving me a strong start, then I saved that as a starting point for any future play throughs.Comment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
Some cool town of Nipton dialog spoilers concerning the Powder Gang and the bad reputation I have with them.
SpoilerI am doing a mission when I got to go scout the town. I walk into the general store and some guy is sitting in the chair. He says, "first the Legion now the mf' Powder Gang Grim Reaper walks in. What do you have against us?" Now I feel bad for killing them all and want to know more about them. Awesome use of the Reputation system, and it makes me wonder how different it would be had I befriended them.Comment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
After walking around it for what seemed like an eternity, I finally found my way into Fabulous New Vegas. Haven't done any gambling yet, but it looks great.
Also,SpoilerOnce I got In, I got my 2nd house, and this one is much nicer than the piece of junk I was given earlier in the game

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
Apparently there is a quicker and easier way to get to New Vegas by going north from a mining camp named Sloan (just east of Goodsprings), but I was advised not to go that way because it was infested with deathclaws. Plus the main questline kind of sends you the other way anyways.
If you or anyone else goes on the trek to New Vegas I'd like to know if you come across some random guy in the middle of nowhere called The Lone Drifter or something or other. He had nothing to do with the story, so I'm wondering if it's from the Wild Wilderness perk, because I had kind of an interesting conversation with him.Last edited by CC; 10-20-2010, 07:22 PM.Comment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
Seen a few minor glitches, like a gecko stuck in a rock. It was running(but getting nowhere) and you could see only it's head and hands, but it was stuck in the rock. Although the rock seemed to prevent me from damaging it, as I couldn't hit the gecko lol.
And then I saw one of those Goodspring Settlers and they were just a head, there was no body, just a floating, moving head. I was laughing so hard.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

I had my first freeze on the PS3 last night. I was exploring near Sloan and a creature attacked me out of no where, as soon as it attacked me my whole system locked up.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
Stupid Fallout. Was up way too late playing this night. LIke others have said. If you loved Fallout 3, run don't walk for this one. If you didn't like FO3, then pass.
BTW, hardcore mode is AWESOME. I love worrying bout my hunger, sleep, water intake. Also healing is much tougher. I really feel more desperate in the wasteland.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
Maybe it's because I'm not very far, but hardcore mode hasn't really been an issue as of yet. When it says I'm thirsty, I drink, if it says I'm hungry, I eat. Healing is different, but I've always played RPGs like healing items were precious so it's realistically not very different for me. The healing of limbs is the biggest change, makes explosives a pain in the mangled leg, and also makes powder gangers a little more scary.Comment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
I never did much melee in FO3, but last night I was ballin with the lead pipe! That thing was f'ing deadly. Nothing like getting geeked up with Jet and running into a room swinging a lead pipe!
Agreed about hardcore. It's not more difficult, but there's more maintenance.Last edited by Jistic; 10-21-2010, 10:02 AM.PSN: JISTIC_OS
