Good game. Huge and overwhelming sometimes, but very cool.

I have my strength at 10 and my unarmed combat at 100 with some combat perks and traits. Needless to say, my punching is devastating when I have my Power Fist our Disruptor Puncher on.

I ran through the opening stuff several times, 3 or 4 I don't remember, and never had a crash. I didn't get a freeze until probably 8 hours in, and even then it wasn't frequent at all. The freezing gets worse the further you get in the game.

So, after playing through the game once, I decided to go after some of the other trophies (specifically the 10k damage with unarmed, melee and explosives). A little more than halfway through those, there isn't a single person alive in the Strip, Freeside or The Fort. That includes

Wiping out the casinos was fun, especially the De-Lux where all the gamblers and diners just sat there waiting for you to punch their heads off.

So you turned Vegas into a shantytown? You should totally upload a video of you walking the desolate streets, preferably with the Hulk theme going over top of it.

It actually wasn't even that hard, the only people armed outside of the casinos are the securitrons and they are pansies. The NCR guys only have cattle prods. The securitrons come back quick though, as soon as you leave and come back they come back as well.

So would you guys say this is better than Fallout 3, on par with it, or what? I really want to buy it. I've heard that it's really not that much of an improvement and with all the slowdown and freezing issues, I would be better off waiting. What do you think? I may pick this up tonight, depending on the general concensus.

                    Re: Fallout: New Vegas

I personally love it and loved FO3 as well. I can see the argument that it's not that much of an improvement which it isn't but it's just more of a good thing for me. I've already put over 40 hours into it and I can see myself putting over 100 once it's all said and done so the value for money you get with one of these games is through the roof imo.

Well if it makes you feel better it completely messed everything up so be glad you don't have it.

A lot of people, myself included can't even get the game to start anymore as it messed with previously used mods/stuff that enabled us to use mods. People that can actually get it running now can't kill anything because it all somehow got marked essential so only count as KO'd. Great patch fellas.

It is a lot like Fallout 3, in fact, it's nearly the same but in a different setting(that isn't really a bad thing, though). If I were you, I'd wait, this game is quite buggy and the freezes...oh, the freezes

Just my .02, I haven't played it in a while after several freezes, hoping that someday they'll get this thing working.

At this point, I agree, wait until they get some of the issues ironed out. Personally though, I think the game is miles better on the writing alone. I had 35 hours in Fallout 3 and was really struggling to see it through, New Vegas I have 66 hours put into the game and am still finding things that pique my interest.

Goh, lol, so they patched everyone in the game to essential when nobody in the game is essential by default? Nice. Only thing I've found that's essential are kids and you can't hurt them at all, I hit the group of 10 kids or so going into the school at Nellis (Boomers) with a mini nuke and unfortunately they don't even go flying.

Well I'm gonna go ahead and get it anyways. With Xmas coming up, this will be my last chance to splurge on myself. This way I'll have it for when the patch does come and can go ahead and give it try. I loved Fallout 3, so....

                              Not just everyone. EveryTHING. Geckos,Radscorps....everything.

Yah they took out kid killing for FO3. Of course there's a mod for that. Was a perk (or trait) in the first 2.

LOL. How? How do you not know that a patch makes everything in the game unkillable? Bethesda/Obsidian needs to fire their entire testing department ASAP. Just blow that ***** up and restart it from scratch.
