Were you playing Metal Gear? Looks like you surprised the door.

But seriously, it's a bug. Try deleting the game data/cache.

Just confirming, but wouldn't that mean I would need to start over from scratch?

Not necessarily, it looks as if the door is missing a mesh, possibly an invisible mesh that denotes a travel door. That info isn't stored in a save file. It's bad cache/game data and/or a bad disc, that's the only things that would cause something like this consistently.

If you are on a PS3 go to the game data utility and delete it, on 360 I think you hold down x on the game, if that doesn't work maybe take the game back to the store for a fresh copy.

Edit: Now that I think about it you might mean that save data is lumped in with the game data/cache, but saves are separate.

So... I just tried to do a quest, and ran into "a" or "the" Mother Deathclaw. I died in one hit, and was wondering if anyone else did this mission and knows how to defeat it.

Sorry I don't know what the quest was called, because I didn't go back to it after I died, but it was for the Great Khans if that helps.

I did it at level 19 and it still took me about 8 different saves. First off I would not attempt it with a gun level below 65, you will need a sniper rifle,a shotgun, and some mines. try and sneak up on some deathclaws so you can get the Bonus. Once you get to the actual mining site, go up on the rail to the crusher and just try and pick them off one by one. Try and kill them before they reach the crusher, the mines will be your last line of defense before they kill you...

Yup it's a missing mesh or texture. If it's the PC version you've got it might be due to a mod, happend to me in FO3,was easy to fix though. If it's the console version I'm very suprised to see that.

The only time I've ever heard of missing meshes on a console game was when The Pitt released for FO3, and some textures weren't included. If it is the console, try deleting your game data (not save data).

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I will try it the next time I am feeling daring or have no other interesting quests going on.

Me and my companions had no trouble with all the little ones, but then I just ran right into the big one, and was dead almost instantly.

mother deathclaw is nothing when you meet up against a LEGENDARY deathclaw....

i also read that they have a ghoul deathclaw dont know if that one is true though...

And here I was... thinking that Cazadors were bad.

Same strategy for Legendary deathclaw as mother deathclaw I presume?

Anybody else as disappointed in the Wild Wasteland trait as I am? There are very few instances of it doing anything, what it does do are really mild and it makes some things unobtainable (like the unique Gauss rifle/alien blaster that you can only get with the trait off/on respectively).

Is that it the one in the quarry?

i just use the alien blaster when it comes to deathclaws...two shots and down they go...limited ammo though

as for cazadors shoot the wings but if surrounded use any of the machine guns you have and just pull the trigger and hope for the best

Done, beat it. Took about 45 hours. I really enjoyed it, it was cool to be in that universe again. That being said, overall I enjoyed FO3 more. There were things that NV did better, but overall I enjoyed the last one more.

I'd give it a solid 8.0-8.5ish range though.

I hope the next one is much different though.
