Re: Fallout: New Vegas
I have just started playing this game. I never played Fallout 3, which now playing NV it kind of makes me want to go back and try it. Anyways, I am not very far into the game, in fact I am just now trying to help Primm find a Sheriff. However last night I went to the Mojave Outpost, jumped on a bed, and got stuck! Nothing would loosen me up, dynamite, nothing! I didn't have any back up saves, and since while I was on top of the bed I tried to sleep hoping it would move to a new position, I lost my autosave! I had to start all over. There are some positives though, I originally made my guy really high in melee, but I never use melee, so I was thinking of re-rolling anyways with more points in other areas. Still though, very frustrating that I had to restart.
At least I learned this lesson before I was very far into the game. I will always have a back up save from now on!DSM Transfer.

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
Ugh, I am tired of the ****ty broken *** reputation system in this game. Endgame spoilersSpoilerSo I played through once, siding with NCR, now I want to go back and take some other paths. I made sure I set a save before I offed Benny, so I load that save to go after Caesar's quests. I kill Benny, get the platinum chip and exit to get the Mark of Caesar and invitation, so I set off to Cottonwood Cove. I arrive, go to the barge and the guy attacks me. WTF, I'm not wearing NCR armor, Boone and ED-E are both waiting since I don't want to take them into casinos. Well, maybe since Boone is still a companion. So I reload, kill Benny, get the chip, get the mark, tell Boone to part ways, head to Cottonwood Cove and....gunshots. Sigh. Maybe it's because I am wearing the 1st recon beret Boone gave me. So I reload, kill Benny, get chip, get mark, sit Boone, take off beret, travel to Cottonwood Cove and.....gunshots. ****. Maybe I'll try Legion Armor, maybe that guy's just mad I wiped out Cottonwood earlier. So I reload, kill Benny, get chip, get mark, sit Boone, sit ED-E just in case, take off beret, travel to Primm where I have Legion armor in the Mojave Express box, put on armor, travel to Cottonwood Cove and......... no gunshots! Yay! I take barge, shop at the trader, buy some cards, food and mods, exit the trade screen and......freeze. So I reload the autosave and avoid the trader this time. I make my way to Caesar's tent, make my way around the arena and.... gunshots. Aaaarg. Maybe I'll sneak, so I load the autosave, use a stealth boy, make it past the dogs and into the tent. Sweet. I make my way to Caesar, **** I need to stop sneaking to talk. I stand up and immediately talk to him, quests failed while he is telling me what I need to do for him. I'm stuck and it sucks.Comment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
Hooray Fallout. Your story is a main reason why I'm done. I got through one playthrough with minimal issues, I'm content with that. I don't want to end up hating the game.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
I have yet to continue playing for weeks since plagued with the DLC bug...sucks, I want to play but no way to continue forward without my good saves being corrupted.
They've got a fix coming, but this is seriously annoying. Such a fun game if there weren't game breaking bugs.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

I haven't been reading but just a couple of days, but what is the issue with the DLC bugs? And when is a fix coming? I used the Target buy 2 get 1 free the other day and picked up this and Heavy Rain. If this is a serious issue and a fix is near, then I may just play Heavy Rain until the fix releases.DSM Transfer.

On a side note, since I was blocked from doing Caesar's questline, I went with Mr House and I'm really disappointed with how many quests are reused from NCR's questline. SpecificallySpoileryou do the exact same questlines for getting the Boomers help, eliminating the BoS, eliminating the Omertas and stopping the assassination attempt on the president of the NCR. They pretty much are exactly the same from beginning to end, you just report to different people.Comment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
That's an issue only on the 360 (at least, I've only seen it for people on the 360) where something gets wonky and corrupts all of people's saves, saying something about missing DLC.

Okay good. I am on the ps3 and have really been enjoying this so far. I was wanting to hold off on Heavy Rain until after I finished this.DSM Transfer.

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
Fun Game, but buggy as hell especially walking thru the wasteland (PS3) Only one freeze in about 10 hours of gameplay, but a lot of stutters and lag. End up fast traveling a lot. I sure do appreciate the smoothness of Red Dead a whole lot more.Follow me on http://twitter.com/Alligator_BloodComment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
I don't know if it was the latest patch or not for 360, but in the 14 hours I have played since the patch I haven't had one issue in terms of freezing. In the 20 hours before the patch, I had like 6 freezes or so. I'm really happy I got the game, and if it's not better than FO3, it's at least the same to me.
I'm currently still avoiding finishing the main quest line because I'm pretty much at the last mission and I want to get my guy to level 30 before I finish this play through.
So, I've been searching all over the place for side quests to do. Does any one have any recommendations of places to go to pick up some new and interesting ones that I may not have done yet. I've finished all the achievement side quests with the exception of "the legend of the star". And I have done a lot of other side quests, but I don't want to list all of them, so if you guys have any interesting places/quests that I could have missed, advice would be greatly appreciated.
By the way is there a second quest that takes place in Goodsprings to get to idolized status, because I have only done the first one, and I was looking for another one but couldn't find it.Last edited by CC; 11-12-2010, 08:00 PM.Comment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
As far as you went I am very surprised you are not at Level 30 already. I got to 30 pretty quickly without really paying attention and I am about the half way point.
You may have closed some of the other side missions because of how far you advanced in the story though. A good one of the top of my head is Searchlight to the south.Comment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
A good place to farm both experience and food (for the achievement) is the Thorn. Do 3 giant radscorpions, you get experience and the radscorpion poison glands which Ruby at the Mojave Express in Primm will make them into Ruby's Casserole. You'll need 170 poison glands at 50 survival or 115 at 100 survival. Once you take those glands and make them into casserole, with hardcore mode on make sure you are down a good 100 hp or more and eat them all.Comment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm not sure if I've checked out either of those places yet or not. Searchlight sounds familiar, but I will double check to see if I've been there and done everything.
On the quests for the NCR that take place at McCarran, I am currently stuck...SpoilerI am doing the part where you are trying to catch the person who is sneaking into the control tower. I looked at the log, and waited outside the tower all night, and nobody showed up. Is there something that I am missing here?
I ended up going to The Fort and killing Caesar and his guys yesterday because I was bored. They were all hostile towards me because I am villified by Caesar's legion and can't do any more quests for them anyways. Killing everyone in his throne room was pretty hard.
But, yeah I'm only at level 25. I guess I just need to do some more exploring.
Also, where is the mission where you have to fight all the deathclaws (mother deathclaw) in the quarry or mining camp. I did it but I died awhile back when I was like a level 20, and now I forgot where it was. Is it Quarry Junction?Last edited by CC; 11-13-2010, 11:58 AM.Comment

Re: Fallout: New Vegas
Yes, quarry.
As for McCarranSpoilerIf you go out and wait, hidden, about 1 am he will walk into the tower. Sneak in behind him. If you don't see him by 1:30 am, you probably missed him sneak into the tower and he will likely be in there.Comment
