Map Pack comes out tomorrow. In case anyone didn't know, the maps will be implemented into all the playlists right away as a search filter (Which means if you have the maps you will automatically be matched up with other that have them and if you don't you won't be).

There will also be a playlist for the DLC maps:

Anchor 9 and Tempest are both very cool. Anchor 9 is just perfect for team slayer and team objective maps. Tempest is a perfect CTF map, I hope CTF gets voted on it often because it's so well set up for it. I haven't had a chance to play Breakpoint yet.

I'm going to buy the map pack soon, but I'm still waiting for MS to send me my free points. I figured I would have used those 800 points to buy this, but I still haven't had anything added to my account.

Queued it up for download. Don't know when I'm going to be able to play though. I'm pretty swamped at that moment.

Edit: Snuck in a few games haha. Got to play a game on each of the new maps. Breakpoint is MASSIVE. Played BTB Snipers on it. It was pretty fun, but snipers isn't really my jam, so it was hard to really judge the map at all. Next game was Slayer DMR's on Tempest. I can tell already that its a great map. Final game I played was Stockpile on Anchor 9. Looks to be a great symmetrical map for 4v4's.

First impressions, this is a great map pack. Visually, they are all jaw-dropping gorgeous.

Also, Bungie put up a "grab bag" playlist today, which is going to be rotating playlist that changes every couple of weeks. First up is Firefight Vs. which I am excited to play.

Haha yeah I was saying that to friend yesterday. They are now the best 3 maps in the game lol.

That might be my motivation to start playing again. Appears Im not the only one that stopped playing considering how dead this thread tends to be.

Yeah I still play it on a regular basis, but it seems that most of the guys here at OS have stopped playing it.

I recovered my account and played at my buddy's house last night. I still like the game, but I enjoy myself much more playing Black Ops. This game's biggest fault is the lack of weapons and variety (just personal opinion). I don't find myself wanting to play it for hours on end, like I did with Halo 2 or 3.

I recovered my account and played at my buddy's house last night. I still like the game, but I enjoy myself much more playing Black Ops. This game's biggest fault is the lack of weapons and variety (just personal opinion). I don't find myself wanting to play it for hours on end, like I did with Halo 2 or 3.

hey I tried to join your party last night when you guys where in the lobby, but when I did nobody did anything for a few minutes so I just left. Not sure if you were away for a few minutes or whatever.

The new maps are terrific, probably the best in the game. I do enjoy Sword Base, Asylum, Reflection and BoardWalk, as well as some others depending on game type, but Bungie would be wise to work as hard on the next map pack as they did the first one.

Well I got this from Gamefly...
and once again color me unimpressed with another Halo game.

Granted ive only played 30 minutes but man it just feels like another first person shooter.
Also, is it just me or is the frame rate real bad? Even the opening cinematic with noble six being introduced was chugging along a bit.

I installed it to the HD... is that why?
Anyone else thought it was hard to play early, but it picked up after awhile?

sounds to me like you just don't like Halo, and there's nothing wrong with that. I never had problems with the frame rate. The single player experience just gets better and better as you go along, and the multiplayer is a lot of fun as well, if you like Halo that is. I would never say it's "just another shooter" because it does so much better than most other games. But if you don't like it, then you don't like it, and there's no need to force yourself into doing so either.

well, if you're not into Halo and don't care much for the Halo universe, I imagine the campaign is going to underwhelm you no matter how far you get. I thought it was fantastic, but I dig Halo. At the very least you gave it a fair shot.

I stopped playing it because the maps just sucked in my opinion. But I'm not buying the map pack anytime soon so it'll just sit on the shelf for awhile.
