    Oh, LOL.

I always forget you can play keys without Pro Mode.

      Interesting to say the least.
I got to the first level of progression before I even created my characters. Named the band, made the logo and there it was. It used the default stand-ins for the scene. Once I actually finished the band I think I was at level 3 or 4. How many fans were you getting on pro keys? Most people seem to be getting 333,333 per song/challenge and suspect it's a glitch.

I'm not playing to complete challenges per se as much as I'm just playing songs to learn them, so I don't know about any glitch on pro keys.

Well you earn the challenges regardless don't you? Whatever the cause you should be earning 333,333 fans instead of not many.

Also a very small bit of good news. This was only a rental for now so I can't try myself but it's been said the axe guitar that requires completing the welcome to pro guitar challenge is doable by anyone as welcome to pro guitar is actually a video. Just watch the vid and you'll get it.

Fender guitar comes out 3/1/11 and is only $280. Much better than the price I was expecting. You can preorder starting 1/1/11.

I'm totally getting one. Can't wait!

Honestly, I thought the price would be worse, but thats still a lot of coin. It would be so awesome though.

                    Re: Rock Band 3

Well I rented this over the weekend to snag the free Doors tracks...don't have the $100 to throw at the full Keyboard bundle right now, but I must say, it's a great improvement over RB2. I am digging the tracks for RB3 and I think I like the challenges better than the old tour mode, which basically forced me to burn myself out on the RB2 disc tracks...so props to HMX for that.

                    Things I love

                    1) Individual breakneck speed
                    2) Individual scores displayed within the band score (REALLY like this one)
                    3) Challenges are kind of fun, but I think they get will get kind of old.
                    4) The star/% display on the song select is awesome...should have had this in RB2.

                    Things I hate

                    1) When playing for spades, no score is shown, and no solo % is displayed on the guitar. Dumb.

                    2) The note highway seems more transparent than in RB2 or RB1. Sometimes it's fine, but depending on what is showing in the background, I have less time to react to what notes I have flying at me. On Expert with breakneck, this matters. I wish I could toggle this.

                    3) Uh, nothing else I guess. Solid job HMX!

                      Re: Rock Band 3

Still grappling with Harmonix and Warner Bros. over the Lego Rock Band export. I bought the game new, ordered on 10/24, arrived sealed and perfect, and the code, when entered, said "No Tokens Available". Then, entered again, said "Already Redeemed".

I've e-mailed every Harmonix/Rock Band address, the Lego Rock Band support address, scanned a copy of my Amazon order and the code sheet, and now wait...wait...wait.

What a load of crap. I don't want to play Lego Rock Band. I want the songs (really only 'Final Countdown') on RB3. That's it!!

I might love this most about Rock Band (the see-through highway). I really hope they don't ever go opaque on us with it.

EDIT: Okay, I played the demo and I see what you mean. You're referring to how the highway fades out further away from you (as it should, but this is quite a bit), and not as much about the actual "road" itself being a bit see-through, as it actually used to be more in the past and I preferred it that way. Now it's more solid. So if they had less touch on the fade and they brought the highway back to nothing but a slightly see-through blackness (now it has patterns, which I also don't prefer), we'd be in business.

I only have Rock Band 2, if I were to get Lego Rock Band could I export the songs to play on Rock Band 2? I thought I heard from now on you can only export songs to be played on Rock Band 3?

yeah you can export Lego RB into RB2, you can also export RB Green Day into RB2 if you're interested. The new restriction is that the new RB3 DLC songs will not work in RB2.
