trailer looks awesome i must say. the one gripe i had about gears of war 2 was that every damn place looked the same or identical there werent like new environments if that makes sense with what i am saying ( single player)

lol if you thought the environments in Gears 2 were too similar then you must not have played the first one.

Microsoft confirmed an April 5, 2011 release date.

More details from a spanish site that interviewed Cliff:

• Karen Traviss (the author of the Gears novels) is the writer on Gears 3.
• Epic is continuing to refine the cover system to be the best in the industry.
• Epic realizes how much people love the shotgun, so they will allow users to use the shotgun as much as they want. Additionally, a new sawed-off double barrel shotgun, which will be very powerful and can gib multiple enemies at once, but it will take a longer time to reload and the range is shorter.
• The Pendulum Lancer has a bayonet instead of chainsaw.
• A new move where if you jump out of cover, you can kick enemy in the face.
• 18 months later in Gears 3, no one knows where the majority of locusts are, so they are dealing with lambent threat.
• COG has fallen and everyone is stranded.
• Anya will be in battle kicking *** with Delta squad.
• Epic will be bringing back old maps that weren't in Gears 2.
• Cliff is being coy on wether there will be a beta or not.
• He was asked about matchmaking and netcode, without going into details he asssured that many things were being improved.
• New UE3 tech upgrades will be in Gears 3: better lighting, color depth, and foliage.
• "It's going to be the most fun, best told story in the Gears universe, best looking, and most refined Gears experience to date"

I hope this means they will actually have servers for online play in GOW3. Host advantage & all the ******* bridging screws online play up in GOW2. Yet im still playing till this day.

The new shotgun is sounding sweet, as always first day purchase when it comes out but if online play is as bad as GOW2, I will strongly consider trading this in after beating the Campaign.

What he said.....I still play Gears2 but I was highly disappointed after experiencing the multiplayer in Gears1, I thought the mulitplayer in Gears2 would be leaps and bounds above the 1st one.

This is awesome for fans of the novels. I just saw an exclusive interview with Cliff from a Spanish magazine and he said it himself. He also said the COG disbanded or has been dismantled and basically everyone is stranded now!

He also teased some more details about the new weapons and other interesting gameplay.

Dont think I will buy it As I do not play the Multiplayer that much, but it will def. be a Rental.

Oh man I can't wait! Loved Gears 2 single player, not so much multiplayer (still a Gears 1 multiplayer player ). Hopefully they can improve on the multiplayer and add more to the popular Horde mode!
