Mike Capps comes to the front of the cinema to give a short presentation of Gears. For the first time in public, they show “Previously on Gears”. This is an option you can choose in Gears 3 and it will show a short film of Anya of how it all got this far. So it’s basically a recap of Gears 1 & 2 and a bit of the books. The film sure helps if you’re new to Gears. For the die-hards, it’s a cool extra to watch.

Cool to see a few new enemies in the background of this video. I still think that we might see RAAM or Skourge come back as lambent versions. Very surprised what these guys have been able to do with this engine considering they were saying it was maxed out at one point.

Cliffy mentions that this is the end of the trilogy with the Delta Squad. I'd love a prequel covering Emergence Day, the Pendulum Wars, and Adam Fenix being the main character.

i would just like to say that i bought the first GoW a couple of weeks ago and i am really enjoying it. i just started act 3.

i plan to play through part 2 as well before i get to part 3. the weird thing is i normally hate sci-fi/zombie shooter games but this just seemed different so i had to try it. glad i did.

can someone tell me the importance of collecting cog tags??

Just for an achievement, collecting dog tags doesn't reveal anything story related like Halo terminals.

Gears of War 3 Season Pass Announced

Gears of War 3's downloadable content has yet to be revealed, but Microsoft knows you want it, and is already letting you preorder it.

The Gears of War 3 Season Pass hooks players up with the first four DLC packs as they become available. The first is scheduled for November, and the next three are scheduled to release "over the course of the next year". **** stated that the packs would contain both multiplayer and campaign content, but has yet to go into specifics about them.

The Season Pass goes on sale on the game's launch day, September 20, and retails for 2400 Microsoft Points ($30). Microsoft stated that the Season Pass is a 33 percent saving over buying the four DLC packs separately. Fans who order the Season Pass also get a Liquid Metal weapon set, like this metallic lancer.

This is getting insane with these online passes from all companies.

$30 is a bit much without knowing the content of the future DLC. I will not get it the pass. I'd rather decide whether to buy or not as each DLC comes out.

usually gears dlc is pretty good. but i think id rather just buy it as it comes out. $10 here, $10 there over the course of a yr aint bad at all really. id rather trickle the money out when it drops then have to spend another $30 instantly

$30? Yikes! That's half the retail price. I've never gotten any Gears of War DLC as I'm not big on the multiplayer. Love the story though and there hasn't between much story DLC in the first two. Just in the second and it wasn't necessary. I'm sure the story will conclude at the end of the third so therefore I'll be done with the game as soon as I pass it. Except for Horde mode. I'll play that.

Just a heads up this is for four DLC packs (multiplayer maps, horde maps, extra missions) and somebody over the EPI.C forums did the math. If you get the season pass you will save $10 over buying them all individually. So if you're a hardcore Gears player and know you'll get all the DLC it makes sense to get this.

Plus, you get the liquid metal weapon skins, which look awesome.

edit: just did the math myself, and at minimum you'll save about 1200 MS points. The math came out somewhere around 1500 MS points. So yeah, this is actually a pretty good deal.
