Does anyone know the "fake" trick that's been getting people banned? I have a friend of mine that told me a way to get it and swears its a legit way and not that one, but I want to compare.

If it's a trick, then unfortuantely it's not legit.

Would be easier to pull off next week, this week it's only the Friends/Family and Bulletstorm people. Easier for them to tell.

The beta DL is only 83MB in case anyone is wondering, the issue is if it's not legit, it won't download the 600MB file from XBL that is patched in, which is how they are busting people.

Yeah, that's what I assumed and it's why I'm not going to do it. It involves recovering a gamertag and then downloading it. Seems...too fishy to work.

I've actually heard that one works fine, it's the USB one that will probably not work and probably get you banned.

FYI members of the E-PIC staff have said on their forums that they are banning people for the gamertag recovery trick as well. I don't know if it's a bluff or not. I just know I personally wouldn't risk it.

I would assume its a bluff personally, but still probably not worth the risk.

Banning people from a free beta that is free marketing for your game doesn't seem like a great move IMO.

The people hacking into the beta through whatever method are the ones that are either already committed to purchasing it or illegally downloading it when it releases in September. I doubt you see many casual 360 players that hack into the beta just to check it out. That is to say, I don't think E-PIC feels like this is free marketing to those people.

Besides, you can preorder for a few bucks, get a code and get into the beta. If you don't like it then cancel the preorder and get your money back. So I don't feel it's valid for people to justify it as free marketing when you can just as easily get into the beta, legitimately, for essentially free.

Well people are hacking into the beta, they are just taking advantage of loopholes that MS has not closed off for some reason.

Personally, I still think it's a bluff, at least banning people from the retail game 5 months before it comes out.

anyone else completely sucks at gears of war 3 but like it to much u cant stop playing lol. I got the beta tonight but only got 4 games in. In those four games I have a total of 9 kill 11 downs and 28 deaths. Horrible lol

Yea. Should be a map weapon, too many people hug corners with them, even worse when theres 2 or 3 of them in a game. Nothing so far is more frustrating than working kids with the gnasher then they run wounded, hug a corner and get one off. Changes my entire approach....


And the simultaneous kills are pretty overdone, also the mantle kick could use a bit of work....maybe. Other than that, having fun, cant wait for another map

Really my only major complaint about the weapon sandbox and its balance is the sawed off shotty. I hate that thing.

I agree, I'm hoping when they look at the stats with that weapon they will do some tweeking. I feel you should have to be at melee range to kill people with one shot.
