So basically, Bulletstorm owners get 2 perks. One, getting the beta a week early, and two, only way to get the flaming Hammberburst.

Is anyone else getting sick and tired of these "buy another game from us" or pre-order here, and every other form of "bonus" for jumping through the proper hoops?

Gears looks and sounds great, it's been one of the only shooters I've liked and played longer than a couple weeks over the last couple years (since RB6 and GRAW) but man, I hope I can compete without a special power-up gun because I buy it from Amazon for the $20 pre-order credit.

I have no idea what you're even talking about. The guns are skins, nothing more. And Bulletstorm was announced to have the beta for Gears 5-6 months ago. At one point, it was the only way to have the beta, so at least now if you do pre-order from Gamestop, others get a shot.

It's not a demo, it's a beta. Nothing given out over the beta will give any player any advantage at all.

It's a blanket statement...

Other betas have offered extra guns/armor/what have you for those that participated in them, or had people enter at a higher level than others. Stores and retail outlets offer bonus perks for pre-ordering or purchasing a game that others will never have access too.

Whether those are tangible perks (e.g. a +1 damage or something) or not is irrelevant. I don't follow the guys who do the spreadsheets evaluating one sniper rifle to another.

The point was it's another example of a company offering perks to certain individuals or retailers and not having an open and honest playing field. I saw no issue in everyone buying an identical game from wherever on a certain day. Now, it's different...and frankly, that blows.

You're getting a little too upset about this.

Yeah, I hate store specific preorders as much as the next guy, but if you read the press release in the post about the beta, then all of this would have already been explained to you.

won't work. Not only do you need the Bulletstorm disc, but you also need a special code that comes on an insert only available with the **** Edition. Thus if you rent one later you won't get the insert with the code on it.

I'm just going to rent Bulletstorm just for the beta... that's what I did with the Reach Beta...

If you pre-order Gears3 online instead of going to the store, you don't have to put the deposit down and your credit card isn't charged until the game ships. You will get the beta code emailed to you before the beta starts, so that leaves some options available for people......

Can't wait for Gears 3, Along with Batman Arkham Asylum the Gears series is my favourite. I love a good story and the Gears story is outstanding. The multiplayer doesn't interest me so a great campaign mode is what i look for and without a doubt in my opinion the Gears series has it all.

I am actually tempted to buy the limited edition Bulletstorm just to be able to play the Beta version. I din't really want to get Bulletstorm as i have a load of games to play through and also have Crysis 2 on pre-order so i didn't think i'd have much time to play it.

I may wait till Bulletstorm goes down in price to get it.

well you don't need Bulletstorm to play the Gears 3 beta. If you did own Bulletstorm it just gets you into the beta a week earlier than everybody else.
